Job Description
UL Solutions is seeking a Senior Storage Advisory Expert to play a key role in delivering high-impact renewables projects and transactions across EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). This is a client-facing, transaction-focused position within our growing Renewables Advisory business, offering strong exposure to leading developers, investors and lenders.
The role centers on the delivery of technical and commercial due-diligence support for Independent Engineering (IE) and Technical Advisory (TA) projects across energy storage, solar and storage, and hybrid renewable portfolios. You will contribute directly to project financing, M&A and investment decisions by assessing risk, performance and bankability across complex projects.
The Senior Storage Advisory Expert integrates input from multidisciplinary teams to deliver consistent, high-quality advisory reports for our clients as well as supporting on team growth, mentoring other colleagues and supporting the growth in the region.
In this role, you will:
+ Lead and deliver complex due diligence projects across storage, solar & storage and hybrid renewable portfolios
+ Support major financing and transaction processes by reviewing contracts, financial models and technical documentation
+ Prepare tailored, competitive proposals aligned with client needs and market standards
+ Build strong client relationships and act as a primary point of contact on projects

This role can be based in a hybrid model from Barcelona, Pamplona, Milan, Warsaw or Dubai, or fully remote from the Netherlands, Germany or Italy.
+ Perform and lead technical due diligence reviews for energy storage and solar + storage hybrid projects supporting financing, acquisition, and development activities.
+ Review and interpret project contracts, including EPC, BSA, interconnection, PPA, O&M, LTSA and major supply agreements, to identify technical and commercial risks.
+ Analyze and validate financial models, assessing CAPEX, OPEX, warranties, degradation, performance assumptions, and other key financial drivers.
+ Evaluate project energy use cases, operating profiles, and dispatch strategies to ensure alignment with technical capabilities and market conditions.
+ Compile and complete TDD reports, summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations to ensure clarity, quality, and consistency.
+ Integrate multidisciplinary input (engineering, financial, and environmental) to ensure a coherent and technically sound final deliverable.
+ Work closely with Project Managers to ensure alignment with scope, timeline and budget, supporting efficient project delivery.
+ Engage directly with clients, lenders, and developers, presenting technical results, responding to comments, and maintaining professional client relationships.
+ Identify key risks and mitigation strategies, applying best practices and lessons learned across projects.
+ Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
+ Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharing across the organization.
+ Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal tools, templates, and methodologies for due diligence and advisory services.
+ Travel occasionally (up to 15%) for client meetings, project delivery and industry events.
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in energy storage, ideally within a technical advisory, developer or lender environment.
+ Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects, performing contract and financial model reviews for energy infrastructure projects.
+ Strong understanding of project finance concepts, risk assessment, and bankability considerations.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how technical and contractual factors influence project economics.
+ Proven client-facing delivery experience and comfort interacting with senior stakeholders.
+ Ability and willingness to mentor junior staff and share expertise across the organization.
+ Familiarity with European market, regulatory and policy frameworks related to energy storage.
+ Fluent English required; additional local language relevant to the country of application is expected.

**Job Description**
We're looking for an experienced Associate Director, to join our Urban Advisory team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this strategic role, you will drive the development and delivery of high-impact Infrastructure projects while building and mentoring a talented team. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal leadership to shape the future of urban developments across the region.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the conception, development, and execution of urban advisory projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and organizational standards
+ Conduct comprehensive market analysis, feasibility studies, and strategic assessments to inform urban development recommendations
+ Develop and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership, clients, and key stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable insights
+ Manage client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring satisfaction, clear communication, and successful project outcomes
+ Oversee project teams, providing direction, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure delivery excellence and professional development
+ Analyze urban trends, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and risks within the built environment sector
+ Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposal development, pitch preparation, and new market opportunities
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability, innovation, and best practices into advisory solutions
+ Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery and profitability
+ Stay current with industry developments, emerging technologies, and evolving best practices in urban planning and advisory
**Qualifications**
+ Degree in economics, urban planning, public policy, or a related field.
+ 14+ years in urban advisory, economic development, and infrastructure
+ Proven track record directing complex, multi‑stakeholder advisory projects from inception to delivery.
+ Advanced competency in economic appraisal, feasibility, and financial modeling for urban and infrastructure projects.
+ Experience with major transport and mobility programs, infrastructure corridors, urban regeneration programs and economic and industrial cities.
+ Strong commercial acumen: scope definition, budgeting and risk management.

- Exhibit professional and personal presence; actively participate in internal and external discussions; present well-developed and delivered narratives to colleagues and clients; demonstrate mastery of verbal / written / listening / non-verbal (body language) communication skills
