The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to contribute to the Surface Chemistry of Implants and Fabrication of Polymer Medical Devices.
The successful applicant will collaborate with faculty and researchers at CENTMED to enhance the surface chemistry of implant materials, improving biocompatibility and osteointegration. This will involve surface modification of implants through methods such as plasma treatment, silanization, and the application of specialty coatings to impart corrosion resistance. Additionally, the candidate will develop polymeric lubricious coatings for catheters to minimize injury to blood vessels during the trans-catheterization process. They will characterize the surface modifications of implants using microscopy techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). The candidate will also map the nanomechanical properties of implant surfaces, assessing factors such as adhesion, friction, Young s modulus, and surface free energy using AFM. The ideal candidate will bring experience in developing polymeric medical devices by identifying unmet clinical needs through interactions with clinicians, designing and developing medical devices, and fabricating medical device prototypes. Furthermore, the candidate should have experience in polymer processing techniques, including filament extrusion, compression molding, injection molding, and fused deposition modeling. This position requires the preparation of ISO/ASTM test specimens for mechanical (tensile and flexural) testing of polymers and composites using a Universal Testing Machine (UTM). The candidate will also estimate the glass transition temperature of polymers and composite materials through Dynamic Mechanical Analysis and develop osteoconductive polymeric implants for skull base surgery. Furthermore, the candidate will be involved in quantifying the adsorption of biomolecules on polymeric coatings using Quartz Crystal Microbalance with dissipation monitoring to model plaque build-up in coronary blood vessels. Other responsibilities include developing orthotic assistive devices from sustainable polymers and composites and co-developing medical devices with industry partners. The candidate will also assist in filing intellectual property rights related to medical device innovations. In addition to experimental work, the candidate will collaborate with CENTMED staff and leadership to prepare technology documentation and facilitate the translation of innovations to industry.

**Description:**
Stantec is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer for a DM Sewerage Treatment plant in Dubai.
This role is for a project where the authority in Dubai is requiring the rehabilitation of an existing Sewage System to enable it to perform at its highest possible efficiency and to extend the plant to be able to receive and treat efficiently up to
around 435,000 m3 /day. The selected candidate shall have extensive experience working in local sewage treatment plant facilities along with a proven ability to manage and supervise the construction works and optimization of the operation process within the existing STP in accordance with the specification.
Rehabilitation / Repairing of Civil Works,
Extension of the Plant to around 175,000 m3/Day and
Rehabilitation of existing 260,000m3/Day STP
**Qualifications:**
The Mechanical Engineer, as a vital member of the supervision team, must possess a degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized
university with 10 - 15 years dedicated to supervision work in a similar project's capacity overseeing mechanical works.
He should exhibit substantial expertise in the design, construction, and supervision of mechanical works, particularly related to pumping
stations and force main infrastructure.
Proficiency in surge analysis and related site tasks, along with familiarity with various locations in
Dubai for prompt emergency response, is essential. Furthermore, the engineer must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to engage
with the public and coordinate effectively with Dubai Municipality projects. Competence in drafting software, Microsoft Office applications, and specialized tools such as WANDA or Water Hammers, coupled with excellent communication
abilities in English and decision-making capacity, is required. A valid UAE driving license is also necessary for this role.

Stantec is looking to hire a Planning Engineer with experience in water Drainage and Storm water Networks in Dubai.
**Qualifications:**
The Planning engineer must have relevant degree from recognized university and must have civil engineering background with a knowledge and work experience of not less than 10 years in design and construction programing/planning of similar projects. The Planning Engineer "in association with the resident engineer" shall develop the Project execution plan considering the proper engineering techniques and milestone sequences for the Project. He will set targets for activities based on each activity of a Project and ensure it meets DM's specifications and requirements. Planning engineers shall make estimations for timescales and costs using specialized design software packages (Primavera).
The major Planning Engineer role is monitoring "day-to-day" work progress for the Project and provide accurate weekly and monthly reports by swiftly communicating potential progress delays or project slippages. Tracking and analyzing field results is another key responsibility. Planning engineer continually makes comparisons between planned progress and actual progress and reports any differences to their lead project manager.
He also studies the impact of alternative approaches.

The Quality Control Engineer ensures that all products, materials, and processes conform to established specifications and quality standards. The role is critical in performing precise inspections using Hexagon laser arms or equivalent laser measurement tools, while maintaining robust documentation and supporting both internal and external quality assurance initiatives.
**Responsibilities**
+ Program, Set Up, Calibrate, And Operate The Hexagon Laser ARM Measurement System According to Specifications.
+ Perform accurate measurements of parts and components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards.
+ Interpret measurement data and generate detailed reports.
+ Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the Laser ARM equipment.
+ Collaborate with the quality control and manufacturing teams to resolve measurement issues.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
+ Document measurement activities and update relevant records accurately.
+ Identify and report any non-conformities or deviations from quality standards.
+ Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality concerns.
+ Support the calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment.
+ Follow established safety and quality procedures.
**Skills:**
+ Proven experience operating & programming of Hexagon Laser ARM.
+ Strong understanding of measurement principles and quality control processes.
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and specifications.
+ Good communication skills and teamwork attitude.
+ Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
+ Knowledge of API standards (5CT, 7-1) and premium thread connections is a plus.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with quality databases
**Qualifications:**
+ Minimum 5 years' experience operating and programming Hexagon laser arms or other laser arm machines.
