Position Overview:
As a proficient Android Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role within our team at ether.fi. We are seeking an individual with robust skills in Android development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in Kotlin, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose, along with a proven track record of building innovative mobile applications. Your responsibilities will primarily revolve around crafting intuitive, secure, and high-performance native Android applications that seamlessly integrate with blockchain networks. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain highly responsive, visually appealing Android applications using Kotlin, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose.
Work closely with our product and design team to conceptualize and implement new features in Figma that enhance user experience and drive engagement within Android applications. Apply Figma designs to the Android App.
Collaborate closely with blockchain developers to integrate efficient data querying using GraphQL or other relevant technologies.
Implement Android-compatible web3 technologies to enable blockchain functionalities like transactions, wallet connections, and smart contract interactions within the DApps.
Uphold application performance, quality, and responsiveness standards, ensuring code integrity and organization throughout the Android development process.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in blockchain technology, Android development, and security protocols to continuously enhance the product's functionality and security.
Create Unit and UI-tests and a smooth CI/CD flow for internal/external testing and production releases.
Communicate with the Play Store representatives to ensure a smooth and timely release of the app every time an update is pushed.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Android development.
Demonstrated expertise in building Android applications, including interaction with backends and databases (GraphQL experience is a plus).
Familiarity with Android-compatible blockchain interaction libraries such as KEthereum, WalletConnect, or similar frameworks is a plus.
Knowledge of development tools and methodologies, including version control systems like Git, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and automated testing frameworks tailored for Android.
Experience or prior work in Blockchain and especially the Ethereum ecosystem is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely.

What Required Skills You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical) or Construction Management from a recognized institution.
  • 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling on relevant infrastructure projects (Utilities, Roads, Landscape etc) in Community development preferably in the Gulf region.

You'll own both 0-to-1 product development and scaling existing systems, adapting your leadership style to drive maximum impact whether that's through hands-on coding, architectural decisions, or team development.

What You’ll be Doing

The role exists to lead technical strategy and execution for key business initiatives, ensuring our engineering teams can deliver at high velocity without sacrificing quality or scalability.

  1. Delivering at least one greenfield product from conception to launch.
  2. Scaling existing systems to handle 10x growth.
  3. Driving AI adoption across engineering workflows.
Core Responsibilities
  • Own business problems end-to-end, balancing technical leadership and people management.
  • Architect and implement scalable, reliable systems.
  • Lead AI product development and integrate AI tools responsibly.
  • Switch between individual contributor and management modes as needed.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute significant code weekly.
  • Build processes that support rapid experimentation and scaling.
Requirements to apply for the role
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in both hands-on software development and managing engineering teams.
  • Strong expertise in system architecture, distributed systems, and AI/ML product development.
  • Experience with both 0-to-1 product launches and scaling systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability, and communication.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Key Metrics
  • Successful launch of at least one major product within the first 12 months.
  • Achieve targeted system scalability metrics (e.g., handle 10x current load).
  • Increase team productivity and AI adoption by 30% within the first year.
  • Maintain or improve system uptime and performance SLAs.
