The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. This job works closely with senior management to develop and execute strategies to optimise the financial performance of the assigned business and provide guidance on financial decisions.

- Develop and implement robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure

- Regularly review and update financial policies to reflect changes in regulations and business practices.
- Ensure that all financial operations are conducted in accordance with group policies and applicable

- Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for
- improvement.
- Manage the financial planning process in the assigned business unit, including long-term strategic
- planning, annual budgeting, and rolling forecasts.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop realistic and achievable financial plans.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting activities to ensure the accuracy and timely completion of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting standards, including GAAP and IFRS.
- Manage the preparation and submission of all regulatory filings and reports.
- Monitor and manage the assigned business unit cash flow, liquidity to optimise returns and minimise risk.
- Develop and implement cash management strategies to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational
- needs.
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth and timely completion of audits.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Ensure that team members receive regular feedback, professional development opportunities, and
- training.
- Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilise sound judgment in decision making.
- Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business.
Minimum Required Experience
- A minimum of 7-10 years working experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience in financial management, with a proven track record of success.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Preferably MBA or CPA or advanced certification.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory
- requirements.

Your Role
As an Accounting Manager, you will be reporting to the Middle East Managing Director(s) and Regional Finance Director in Singapore, manage the day-to-day finance operations and work closely with the local office Studio Directors and Design Managers.
What You Will Do
- Oversee office full accounting functions including but not limited to: Project accounting, accounts payable, general ledger financial reporting and analysis, and month end closing.
- Conduct performance comparative analysis for the office, studios (Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly)
- Oversee all Coupa approval flows ensuring accurate recording of payments and appropriateness of all expenditure and disbursements.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable and assist in collection efforts when necessary
- Prepare, analyse, and take ownership over monthly reforecasts in Anaplan including coordination with all related functions.
- Assist Regional Finance Director in annual budgeting process
- Deadline enforcement for billing, cash requirements, expense reports and expenses.
- Key person of accounting contact for the offices - responsible for disseminating information, and provide advice and support for other Accounting Managers in the firm
- Ability to manage the various processes taking place within the region (A/P, cash receipts, project accounting)
- Ensuring that offices follow best practices on a consistent basis.
- Leadership, taking initiative, being proactive in trying better processes.
- Attend project set-up meetings for large or global projects, if any.
- Mentor, coach and train the accounting staff.
- Participate in regional finance meetings and involved in global initiatives.
- Assist in pilot testing of new FW Initiatives, processes, and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with 10 plus years working experience in accounting or financial planning and analysis area in a multi-national company.
- Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience in the built environment is preferred, particularly in fields such as architecture, interior design, or engineering.
- Solid knowledge of local Accounting Standards; Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP is a plus
- Good understanding of UAE and KSA tax regulations and tax accounting principles e.g. VAT, Income Tax and Deferred Tax etc.
- Self-motivated and proactive with ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment, and produce accurate and timely deliverables
- Ability to communicate effectively with people from different cultures and levels both internal and external to the firm
- Strong customer service orientation, a team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships

- Manage Accounts Payable: manage vendor records and vendor paymentsManage Expense Reports: process employee expense reports
- Manage Payroll process: coordinate and submit payroll for processing to the payroll provider.
- Manage accounting in NetSuite, including EOM close tasksWork with Kounted (accounting partner) and tax advisors to prepare the entity for income tax reporting and all the local filing requirements

Your role
- Financial Closing:Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring that all financial activities are completed accurately and within established timelines. Monitor budget adherence and implement corrective actions as necessary. Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and resolution of discrepancies.
- IFRS Compliance:Ensure all accounts within the ERP system are accurately booked in accordance with IFRS standards. Regularly review and update accounting policies to maintain compliance. Lead the adoption of any changes to IFRS and align internal practices accordingly.
- Financial Reporting:Deliver timely and precise financial reports to the Finance Director including comprehensive financial statements and internal reports such as accounts receivable cost center analyses and managerial profit and loss statements.
- Oversee the preparation of standard financial statements cash flow analyses budgets and variance reports ensuring they are completed on schedule.
- Audit and Tax Management:Coordinate audit activities and manage corporate tax and VAT filings. Serve as the primary contact for auditors and tax consultants ensuring the professional representation of all financial information.
- Compliance Oversight:Act as the compliance officer for the entity ensuring legal and commercial compliance across all group entities. Stay informed of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments. Ensure internal controls are documented tested and functioning effectively.
- Cash Management:Optimize bank and deposit relationships developing strategies to enhance cash position and management. Analyze cash flow to identify opportunities for improvement. Identify and implement opportunities to reduce financing costs and improve working capital.
- Financial Operations Leadership:Provide strategic direction to all financial operations ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of corporate financial data. Maximize cash flow and return on assets while ensuring reliable and efficient accounting systems. Ensure effective collaboration between the accounting team and other business functions.
- Budget and Cost Management:Develop and monitor operational and capital budgets implementing cost containment strategies as needed. Propose and execute initiatives for savings and revenue generation.
- Financial Analysis:Analyze financial data provided by project management teams to identify trends and improve financial performance. Communicate findings to support informed decision-making.
- Additional Responsibilities:Perform other duties as assigned by management demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to organizational needs.
Your profile
Education / Professional Certification
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA ACCA or CFA is highly desirable.
Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting
- At least 3 years of experience as a team lead
- Proven track record of expertise in IFRS audits and local tax compliance
Knowledge / Skills / Other characteristics
- Technical Skills: You have strong knowledge of SAP systems including FI and CO modules and are proficient in using ERP systems to streamline financial operations.
