• Assist General Counsel with legal, compliance and administrative support across all business lines (including fund management, capital markets and M&A)
• Prepare and edit legal documents, regulatory filings, project plans and internal policies & procedures
• Management and track workflows and submission deadlines
• Assist with the implementation of corporate governance policies and monitor the same
• Liaise with clients and internal teams for the preparation, review and collation of due diligence and KYC/KYB materials
• Assist clients with onboarding at counterparties and service providers (including Fund Administrators, Prime Brokers, Banks, Auditors and Legal Counsel)
• Conduct legal research and prepare briefing notes in respect of the same.
Skills and Qualifications
• University degree and/or professional qualification
• 1+ year of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or similar in a reputable law firm, financial institution or corporate
• Familiarity with legal procedures and financial services regulation in the DIFC, UAE or comparable jurisdiction

The firm have one of the most well established and sophisticated centralised compliance functions within a law firm in the region. The role will be responsible for the implementation, development and enforcement of AML and CTF policies for the GCC offices. The primary focus will fall on the internal systems of the Firm, monitoring and reporting money laundering and terrorist financing to the relevant authorities. The Compliance Analyst will work with both Clients and Fee Earners assisting the request and collection of KYC, CDD, SDD and EDD documentation for clients, in accordance with the relevant AML laws of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Riyadh, filling all necessary documentation to DFSA, FSRA & MOJ. Additional duties of the role will include thorough due diligence periodically, covering all areas of AML and CTF matters within the Firm. This role will report to the Head of AML and Compliance and requires someone that has strong attention to detail and is able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of proven experience as a Compliance Assistant, ideally at a Law Firm or Service Provider. The successful candidate must have an ability to interpret AML rulebooks and federal AML legislation, with an established business acumen and exceptional attention to detail. To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in either Law with strong knowledge of AML provisions.
