Rapyd is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect with deep AWS expertise and experience across other public cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP). This role will drive the design of our global cloud infrastructure, support the migration from on-premises to cloud-native services, and ensure our platforms are scalable, secure, and cost-effective. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with hands-on technical depth and a track record of participating in cloud transformation projects at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and design Rapyd’s cloud infrastructure across AWS and other supported platforms.
- Lead the development of cloud migration strategies from on-premises infrastructure.
- Define and implement multi-account AWS architecture, VPC designs, security controls, and shared services.
- Establish cloud infrastructure standards, reusable patterns, and governance models.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Application, and Security teams to implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and automated operations.
- Drive cloud cost optimization, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure all designs meet internal and external compliance/security requirements (e.g., SOC 2, PCI, ISO).
- Evaluate and integrate 3rd-party services and cloud-native tooling as needed.
- Act as technical advisor to leadership, providing cloud architectural guidance for new initiatives.
- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, etc.).
- Proficient in designing and leading cloud migration projects (rehost, replatform, refactor).
- Experience with other public clouds (Azure, GCP) in multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
- Strong knowledge of Terraform, GitOps/IaC workflows, and CI/CD toolchains.
- Understanding of security architecture, Zero Trust models, and encryption best practices.
- Experience with container orchestration platforms (EKS, ECS, or Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to executive and technical audiences.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Fintech, Payments, or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with edge/cloud security patterns (Cloudflare, WAF, API Gateways).
