Managerial/Administrative Responsibilities

• Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental, and divisional initiatives, policies, and procedures.
• Helps lead and implement the organization's performance management system, including peer review, productivity, and utilization review processes.
• Participates in the organization's performance management system.
• Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring adequate medical coverage within the Division at all times.
• Attends Divisional meetings as required.
• Assists the Division Chief in recruiting new medical staff when appropriate.
• Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief.

Technical/Clinical Responsibilities

The Consultant Physician's clinical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing the clinical activities of junior medical staff and assuming responsibility for their care.
• Complying with all hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient, and follow-up practices.
• Practicing appropriate utilization of organizational resources.

• Reviewing investigation results and modifying treatment as necessary.
• Liaising with other medical specialties and support services for additional input.
