- Patient Records: Maintain accurate dental laboratory results and create dental records in accordance with established procedures.
- Patient Interactions: Manage patient interactions during dental procedures, including receiving patients, positioning chairs, and placing napkins.
- Instrument Transfers: Manage and document dental instrument transfers between branches.
- Surgical Procedures: Assist with basic restorative, periodontal, endodontic, and surgical extraction procedures using four-handed dentistry principles.
- Operational Field: Maintain a clean and safe operational field during procedures, utilizing retraction, suction, irrigation, drying, and cotton wool balls.
- Material Preparation: Prepare dental materials, cements, composites, and impression materials.
- Hazard Communications: Demonstrate understanding of bloodborne pathogens and hazard communications (OSHA, OSAP).
- Disease Control: Demonstrate knowledge of disease control and prevention guidelines.
- Ethics/Jurisprudence: Demonstrate knowledge and practice of ethics/jurisprudence and patient confidentiality.
- Basic Life Support: Apply effective communication techniques with patients and provide preventative and oral hygiene instruction.
- Medical Emergencies: Demonstrate knowledge and practice of prevention and management of dental medical emergencies.
- Data Updates: Update dental ICD codes and data on the computer system and DOH website.
- Ad-Hoc Tasks: Perform any additional tasks required by the Medical Director/Dentist/Clinic Manager.
- Professional Approach: Maintain a professional and responsible approach to all duties.
- Collaboration: Work cooperatively with other clinic staff in a positive team environment.
