JOB PURPOSE
The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for delivering a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes across the organization. This role actively supports and advises senior management and stakeholders by providing value-added audit recommendations aimed at mitigating risks and improving efficiencies. The Internal Audit function emphasizes best-in-class service for stakeholders through training, coaching, and professional development opportunities, as well as facilitating the attainment and maintenance of relevant certifications for continuous professional growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Provide meaningful insights on into NAS Neuron's key control environments for senior management and stakeholders, driving efficiencies and effectiveness in processes and mitigating risks.
- Develop and oversee the annual audit plan based on comprehensive audit risk assessments, incorporating all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and follow up on reported audit findings, ensuring the implementation and effectiveness of Management Action Plans.
- Support the NAS Neuron internal audit team member in the delivery of the audit engagements
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures across all organisational functions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, including Internal Audit mandates across each Nas Neuron's geographical location recommending improvements where necessary.
- Participate in meetings with business unit leaders as required by the local corporate governance protocols.
- Promote best practices in auditing and governance and champion continuous improvement in methodologies and tools.
- Lead or assist in investigations of suspected fraud or unethical behaviour, recommending corrective actions.
- Provide periodic updates to the Group's Audit Committee on audit activities, risk assessments, and control issues.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 10+years' experience in internal and/or external auditing, ideally within the insurance or financial services sectors.
- Minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field (additional certifications such as CPA or CIA are highly desirable).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal control procedures, and audit standards.
- Familiarity with UAE healthcare industry regulations and insurance requirements is desirable.
- Proficiency in risk assessment, audit execution, and concise written and verbal reporting.
- Ability to independently manage assurance and risk advisory projects.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and their practical application.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships with management and stakeholders.
- Confidence and ability to present information effectively to Internal Audit Management.
