Highway Design Engineer

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Highway Design Engineer to join our team!
What You'll Be Doing:
Independently develop and/or supervise the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
Produce typical products such as detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
Provide support for other engineering activities as required.
Supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
Be assigned to a project or organizational team, or act as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate size project.
Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

**Highway Design Manager**
**Dubai, UAE**
We are looking for an exceptionally talented Highway Design Manager to join our team! In this role, you will serve as the technical expert in roadway design, particularly with respect to Dubai and GCC standards. You will be responsible for guiding a large diverse team of engineers, ensuring project designs meet client expectations in Dubai, addressing complex design issues, and championing advanced 3D design methodologies and digital engineering evolution.
**What You'll Be Doing:**
+ Lead and inspire a large team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Ensure that design review staff members have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
+ Serve as the technical expert in roadway design, promoting the use of the latest 3D highway design software (Civil3D/OpenRoads/MX/Inroads) and the interface with drafting software (AutoCAD/Microstation). Implement 3D clash detection (Navisworks/Navigator) and ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company procedures and standards.
+ Oversee the conduct of design reviews, participate in Value Engineering Workshops, and hold regular design coordination meetings.
+ Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes, regulations and company procedures and standards, identify opportunities for process enhancements and address where non-compliance exists.
+ Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activities, including significant milestones and any conditions that could affect project cost or schedule.
+ Establish program requirements for all areas of the program and monitor draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
+ Develop standard operating procedures and organize in-house training for team members.
+ Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively with customers, stakeholders, and peers. Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
+ Promote technical excellence and best practice digital engineering design workflow processes.
+ Assist the Project Manager (PM) in planning and developing resource plans for each project. Provide technical support and supervision during the preliminary study, preliminary design, final design, and tender stages.
**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**
+ Degree in civil engineering from a reputable institution.
+ Minimum of 15 years of experience in roads and highway design, with proven experience leading a team.
+ Prior experience in a lead capacity with excellent engagement with team members and excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Familiarity with industry practice, standards and regulations.
+ Thorough knowledge of current technology and the ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on projects.
+ Recent experience with the latest highway design software and working in a BIM environment, including 3D clash detection.

**Job Description**
As a Highway Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design and development of highway and road infrastructure projects. A dynamic leader in road and highway design is needed to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the design process from concept to delivery, ensuring international standards are met.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to establish project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Provide technical guidance to design teams, promoting high-quality work and innovative solutions.
- Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings and reports.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines to achieve seamless project integration.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification desired.
- 12+ years of experience in roads and highways design, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience working on projects in the Middle East, ideally in the UAE.
- Proficiency in relevant design software such as Civil 3D or InRoads.
- Strong understanding of local regulations and practices related to road and highway projects.
- Excellent project management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
