We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Device and Robotics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, integration, and deployment of advanced robotic automation and IoT-enabled manufacturing systems. This role is pivotal in delivering smart factory initiatives within precision-driven and highly regulated industrial environments. The position requires full-time on-site presence at a major client facility in Abu Dhabi.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the end-to-end implementation of robotic systems from major OEMs, including KUKA, ABB, and Fanuc.
- Architect and deliver connected automation solutions, integrating PLCs, SCADA, and industrial IoT platforms.
- Work closely with client-side engineers and project stakeholders to design and tailor custom automation solutions for complex manufacturing and assembly operations.
- Oversee commissioning, testing, and performance tuning of robotic and automation systems.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and hardware-level advisory, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior engineers and delivery teams.
- Act as the primary technical liaison for client engagements, ensuring solution alignment, transparency, and engineering confidence.
- Lead technical evaluations and negotiations with vendors to validate and finalize automation and IoT proposals.
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in robotic automation, digital manufacturing, and IoT-based production systems.
- Extensive experience in robot programming, safety systems, and deployment with KUKA, ABB, and Fanuc robots.
- Proficiency with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron) and SCADA platforms, with knowledge of industrial protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, and EtherCAT.
- Proven track record of delivering projects in regulated, high-compliance manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to access, troubleshoot, and advise on robotic hardware and integrated device layers.
- Strong client-facing skills, capable of communicating complex engineering concepts in a clear, actionable manner.
- Experience mentoring engineering teams and leading solution delivery in mission-critical, production-intensive environments.
- Practical, hands-on expertise in robotics and automation hardware.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

- High school or equivalent diploma
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience
- 2+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment experience
- 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics experience
- 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience
- 1+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) experience
- Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field

- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in continuous process or production environments.

- A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or related technical field.
- Experience with ISO 13849 and ISO 62061 frameworks.
- Experience working in multi-site environments.
- Project management experience with frameworks like Agile and Waterfall.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, data analysis, or process improvement techniques.

Qualifications:

• Experience in smart home wireless solutions is a plus.
Skills:
• Ability to learn and understand different programming tools from different smart home international suppliers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Valid UAE Driving license.
