Requirements:

• Post qualification experience – 3 – 5 years
• Language(s) – English (Bilingual Preferred)
• Qualifying jurisdiction – Common Law
• Regional GCC experience
• Experience in intellectual property with specific experience in commercial IP (including drafting and negotiating different type of IP commercial agreements), and transactional work, such as IP audits, IP issues in M&As, IPOs, joint ventures and others.
• Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files.
• Must be able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Flexibility, positivity and passion for IP.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Advising clients on general IP aspects in different IP transactions.
• Handling due diligence within major corporate transactions (M&As, IPOs, restructuring etc.) and manage the IP aspects of such transactions.
• Conducting general IP audits.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating different IP related agreements, including assignment, licensing, franchising, branding etc.
• Handling routine IP matters including trademark portfolio management, IP infringements, general IP advisory and disputes.
• Supporting the partner with business development initiatives related to the practice.
• Providing consultancy services to the clients
• Ensuring billing and collection targets are met.
• Maintaining an average billing of 5.5 hours / working day

Education & Certification:

• Law Degree from an accredited institution
• Bar Admission/Practicing Certificate/MOJ License

Responsibilities:

• Must be an Intellectual Property expert with extensive knowledge in handling all stages of Intellectual Property transactions associated with large client portfolios.
• Bright and judicious skills in professional networking, and must be proficient enough to graciously draw in international clients and associates.
• Provide consultancy services to clients.
• Advise and correspond with in-house and international clients at subsequent stages of Intellectual Property transactions, and develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Handling routine Intellectual Property matters, starting from preparation and sending of proposals alongside preparation, prosecution, and maintenance of applications.
• Preparation of documents and correspondence intended for litigation/infringement/cancellation and opposition proceedings.
• Analyze watch notices and search reports.
• Review products and marketing materials for IP issues, provide Intellectual Property insights on creative projects, and support in business development-related initiatives of the sector.
• Periodically conduct educational webinars, workshops, and presentations on Intellectual Property matters on various platforms.
• Develop and maintain a trained, efficient, and updated team of legal peers.
• Assist with other Intellectual Property -related administrative tasks and procedures as and when demanded.

Requirements:

• Must be a Law graduate.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Intellectual Property .
• Must be detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with good verbal and written skills, and possess excellent vocabulary.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications.
• Ability to multitask resourcefully to meet deadlines and priorities.
• Must be presentable, flexible, and maintain a positive attitude.
• Willingness to travel on short notice, as and when proposed
