Main Responsibilities ：

• Inspect and evaluate welding operations and procedures for compliance with industry standards codes and safety regulations.
• Perform visual inspections of welded joints to ensure quality and integrity.
• Review welding procedures and ensure adherence to required specifications and codes.
• Conduct nondestructive testing (NDT) such as ultrasonic testing (UT) radiographic testing (RT) magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and dye penetrant inspection (DPI).
• Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports and documentation of welding inspections.
• Collaborate with the welding team and management to resolve quality issues and improve welding practices.
• Monitor and control welding parameters such as heat input welding speed and material specifications.
• Ensure welding operations comply with client specifications contract requirements and safety standards.
• Assist in the selection of welding methods and materials to optimize the quality of welds.

Essential Qualifications ：

• A degree or diploma in Welding Technology Quality Control or a related field is preferred.
• Certification as a Welding Inspector (e.g. AWS CWI CSWIP) is required.
• At least three years of experience in welding inspection, preferably in the oil & gas construction or manufacturing industry.

Required Skills and Qualifications ：

• Strong knowledge of welding techniques codes and standards (e.g. ASME AWS API).
• Expertise in various NDT methods such as UT RT MPI and DPI.
• Familiarity with welding procedures and the ability to verify compliance with specifications.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to identify and troubleshoot welding defects.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Good communication skills for interacting with the welding team management and clients.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to ensure compliance with safety standards during welding operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all pipeline welding operations meet the required standards.

This involves having a strong technical understanding of various welding processes, including GTAW and SMAW, as well as experience with pipeline welding codes such as API 1104 and ISO 13623.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

• Develop and implement welding procedures and inspect weld quality to ensure compliance with industry standards;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks to project schedules, deliverables, and costs;
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, including ASME Sec IX and ISO 9606;

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Metallurgy, Mechanical, or relevant field) with a minimum of 5 years of significant experience in pipeline welding engineering;
• International Welding Engineer Diploma (IWT / IWE from IIW or EWF) is highly desirable;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English - speaking and writing;
• Able to work in a multi-cultural environment and adapt to changing priorities;

As a piping and welding inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry specifications, codes, and standards.

About the Role:

• Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect weld joints and piping installations to ensure they meet quality standards
• Verify WPS PQR and welder qualifications to guarantee competence
• Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections to identify defects or areas of improvement
• Monitor welding processes and consumables to optimize efficiency and productivity
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation to facilitate decision-making
• Ensure adherence to SHELL DEP standards and other relevant regulations
• Coordinate with third-party and client inspectors to share knowledge and best practices
• Support pre-commissioning and final walkdowns to guarantee project success

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in oil & gas inspection, preferably in a similar role
• Degree or diploma in welding is an asset
• Experience with international codes and standards is highly valued
• Familiarity with ADNOC & SHELL specifications is essential
• Certified welding inspection (e.g. CSWIP AWS) is a plus
• Strong documentation and communication skills are crucial for success
• Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines with ease
