Key Responsibilities- Review vendor specifications and collaborate with suppliers to ensure components meet design and performance requirements.

- Conduct feasibility studies and supplier comparisons with detailed product information.

- Work with design engineers to improve components based on test results and performance data.

Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Expertise in design development and strategic project planning.
- Knowledge of bid assessment, cost analysis, product approval, and regulatory compliance (homologation).
- Ability to lead teams and coordinate effectively with suppliers and clients.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.

Major Duties &Responsibilities:

Summary of the roleThe CSLC is looking to hire a researcher with expertise in glacier and ice shelf modelling. The scientist will work with others in a team to characterize Antarctic glaciers and assess their instability. The incumbent will perform research on the dynamics of Antarctic glaciers and the effect of ocean and atmosphere on their motion and instability. The work involves, in addition to modelling, the development of diagnostics using satellite and ground-based observational datasets and the possibility to join field campaigns in Arctic and Antarctic.
Main Duties and Key responsibilities- Conducting and analyzing experiments on glacier dynamic processes using a glacier model, satellite observations and ground-based observations to assess their instability.
- Developing diagnostics of the physical processes involved in the interactions between glaciers, ice shelves, ocean, sea ice and atmosphere, based on observational and numerical datasets.
- Conduct scientific studies, publish results in peer-reviewed journals and communicate about them in international conferences.

As a unique international policy and research hub, UNCTAD is delighted to announce the Academic Research Conference on Investment in Sustainable Development at WIF 2023, organized in partnership with the IHEID Centre for Finance and Development, UNU-WIDER, CEPR and NYU Abu Dhabi. The WIF 2023 Academic Research Conference aims to provide a platform for discussions, as well as to integrate research and ideas from leading scholars, researchers, executives from global companies and senior policymakers.
The conference will consist of several thematic sessions over 2 days, a high-level opening session, and a forward-looking closing panel. Contributions from emerging scholars who are underrepresented in these fields are highly encouraged. Selected funding (for travel) for scholars without other sources of funding will be possibly available.
Since the first WIF in 2008, the World Investment Forum has become the largest global platform for high-level dialogue and action on investment for development and now encompasses more than 100 events on topics spanning the full sustainable investment value chain, from green finance in capital markets to on-the-ground investment facilitation. The last WIF held in 2021 which gathered more than 8,000 participants from 177 countries, also featured a multifaceted academic track. The 2021 edition provided a platform for active interaction among key stakeholders including senior policymakers, academics, CEOs of global companies, heads of investment promotion agencies, and representatives of civil society.
