Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Draftsman to join our team, responsible for creating detailed engineering drawings and overseeing junior draftsmen.

1. Receive basic drawings from the drafting team leader and prepare detailed engineering drawings, shop and fabrication drawings, cut lists, nesting plans, input for control sheets, sub-assembly drawings, grating layouts, etc.
2. Ensure correct seam orientation and prepare rolling packages.
3. Ensure all works are performed as per job specifications, guidelines, company procedures, etc., advised by the DTL/LDE.
4. Review and check the work of draftsmen to ensure accuracy and correctness prior to formal issue for construction.
5. Undertake pre-engineering site surveys to confirm the correctness of handover drawings and suitability of allocated sites for project implementation.
6. Be responsible for detailed material take-offs to ensure accurate accounts are taken of all component parts required to complete a project.
7. Prepare input for BOMs and sketches as required for PRs.
8. Prepare data diskettes for the Computer Numerical Control system.

A higher national certificate or equivalent is required, along with an ITI certificate in drafting. An engineering diploma will be preferred.

Eight years of previous drafting experience, including at least four years at Level 1 and a minimum of two years offshore structural drafting experience.

Good knowledge of written and spoken English.

Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, particularly AutoCAD.

Experience with StruCAD/X-Steel/PDS will be advantageous.
