About the RoleThe Structural Design Engineer for Steel Structures will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction process of projects. This individual will focus on ensuring the structural design is safe, functional, and efficient, aligning with the client's objectives.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Conducting technical assessments and structural analysis to propose optimal solutions.
- Preparing structural calculation models using engineering software, along with design calculations and technical specifications.
- Engaging in value engineering of projects.
- Making decisions related to design issues.
- Providing design input and advice to the Project Manager/Engineer and coordinating technical matters.
- Reporting work progress to the Department Manager.
- Collaborating with Project Consultant Engineers and the Resident Engineer.
- Coordinating with other designers, engineers, and architects to produce optimized designs.
- Working with geotechnical engineers to investigate ground conditions and analyze soil investigation results.
- Assessing existing structures for structural flaws and advising on improvements.
- Reviewing contract specifications, B.O.Q., and drawings for technical accuracy and clarification.
- Participating in design-related meetings.
- Supervising drafting teams for timely preparation of shop drawings and submittals.
- Coordinating with Procurement, Suppliers, and Subcontractors regarding material suitability and availability.
- Degree in Structural Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in Steel Structure Engineering.
- Familiarity with Infrastructural, Industrial, Special, and High-End Steel Structures.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as Midas, SAP2000, Staad Pro, IDEA StatiCa, Revit, AutoCAD, and RFEM (advantageous).
- Strong understanding of engineering practices, standards, and guidelines, including Eurocodes, US, and British standards.
- Self-driven team player with good organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Proficient in MS Office and computer skills; programming experience is a plus.

Our Multi National Design & Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Structural Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai, UAE to work on high profile hospitality, commercial and entertainment projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Structural Design Engineer on large scale projects in the UAE and the wider GCC and a proven background working in a recognised PMC or Developer business. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3-6 month contract position as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting. Key Responsibilities: A highly skilled and experienced Structural Designer to join a Dubai-based team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design and coordination of structural systems for major hospitality, commercial and entertainment new build projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop efficient and code-compliant structural solutions that meet the highest international standards. • Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. Senior Structural Engineer - Project Lead
Position OverviewThe Senior Structural Engineer plays a pivotal role in the success of our projects, managing the delivery of medium-to-large-scale initiatives and mentoring junior engineers to drive their growth.
This position involves collaborating with internal teams and external clients to ensure design integrity and timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop comprehensive structural designs and lead the creation of project design documentation.
- Analyze and coordinate structural models and calculations to guarantee accuracy and quality.
- Provide expert guidance and support to junior engineers, helping them refine their skills and expertise.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams through effective communication and collaboration.
- Ensure all projects adhere to local regulations and international standards, upholding the highest level of professionalism and excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 8–12 years of experience in structural engineering design, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
- Strong technical expertise in reinforced concrete, steel structures, and modeling software, with proficiency in tools like ETABS, SAFE, Robot, Tekla, and Revit.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in UAE / KSA projects, with a deep understanding of regional regulations and best practices.

Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for design delivery of bridges and other transportation structures on multiple high-profile projectsand playing your part in the development of the City's infrastructure for the 21st Century.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leading Technical Delivery of Bridges, Underpasses and other transportation structure designs on multiple projects in parallel.
Technical Reviews of the team's work, including Quality checking prior to submission.
Delivering high-quality and technically sound structure designs.
Identifying opportunities for Innovative solutions and Value Engineering.
Liaison with Project Managers and other Discipline Leads to manage delivery schedules, information flow into and out of the team, and inter-disciplinary interfaces.
Meeting with Clients and Approving Authorities, where required, to present and discuss design matter and obtain Approvals.
Providing clear direction to the design team and ensuring expectations and priorities are understood.
Reporting to the Design Manager / Team Leader on progress and resource needs.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum 8 years' relevant post-graduate work experience in design delivery of bridges
Prior experience providing guidance and leadership to mid-level and junior engineers
Strong Communication skills, written and oral, in English.
Dedication to technical excellence, innovation, and high-quality delivery.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Professional qualification/certification (PE, CEng or equivalent).
Previous experience in UAE and GCC is an advantage.
Experience in design delivery of a variety of bridge types and cut and cover tunnels
Experience working in ISO 19650 BIM-compliant environment and software in a Common Data Environment.
