Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on heavy equipment, vehicles, and machinery. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, a thorough understanding of heavy equipment systems, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex mechanical issues.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and routine maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including articulated dump trucks, bulldozers, excavators, wheel loaders, graders, light & heavy vehicles, but not limited.
- Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic problems and develop effective solutions to address them.
- Perform repairs and replacements on faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and hydraulics, but not limited.
- Overhaul engines and major components, ensuring they meet manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and rectify technical issues efficiently.
- Keep line manager and/or supervisor updated on details of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and the nature of the work.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental and occupational health regulations. Zero tolerance.
- Collaborate with other team members to share knowledge, troubleshoot complex problems, and optimize the repair process.
- Proven experience as a Heavy Mechanic, with a demonstrated track record of successfully diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work systematically to identify issues and implement solutions.
- Physical fitness and dexterity to handle heavy machinery components and perform tasks in various weather conditions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal technical training program or apprenticeship in heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to team members and clients.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to operate heavy equipment for testing and diagnostics is a plus.

Job Description
To maintain and repair sections of the following: roads, streets, curbs, surface mats, membranes, drainage structures, as well as other improved areas using appropriate paving and/or surfacing procedures; interpret construction drawings and surveys using information such as subgrade contours and grade alignment; and shall provide erosion control.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Meet heavy equipment requirements on a government contract on a military installation.
+ Determine type and application of equipment to use in various maintenance and repair operations; operate construction equipment to finish grade, level, slope, and compact construction materials.
+ Ability to investigate proposed work sites to determine resource requirements, plan and estimate jobs, coordinate and plan work requirements with other civil engineering and base agencies and inspect work to ensure quality and compliance with policies, regulations, and other publications.
+ Maintain, and repair graded roads, graveled roads and acreage, open ditches, drainage, foundations and slabs on grade.
+ Possess experience in chain link fence construction and repair.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:**
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
+ Minimum five (5) years of recent heavy equipment experience gained either in military or commercial application.
+ Must have either performed or supervised construction equipment operation, special techniques in using construction equipment to prepare sites for constructing and maintaining asphalt roads and grounds, concrete work, soil stabilization, and rigid and flexible pavement construction and maintenance.
+ Must have at least one of the following qualifications: OSHA Certified Crane Operator (29 CFR 1926.1427), minimum two years of experience on 100-ton crane, Certified Forklift Operator, Certified Front-End Loader, Certified CTL Skid Steer Operator, Certified Excavator Operator, Certified Street Sweeper Operator or experienced in chain link fence construction and repair.
+ Must possess basis skills in computer operations.
+ Must have ability to read, interpret and apply TM instructions, publications, and safety rules.
+ Must possess and maintain a valid CDL driver's license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Responsibilities:- Assist the Superintendent by providing input to identify key success factors, procurement timelines, and establishing common work breakdown structures.

- Evaluate equipment service execution for compliance with contracts, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality, advising the project team on status, issues, risks, and cost impacts.
- Own the equipment craft schedule and develop short-term look-ahead schedules for the Foreman, aligned with the execution plan.
- Review and monitor costs and man-hours for installation, and develop staff, facilities, equipment, and tool requirements.
- Require at least 5 years of experience in the building construction industry with extensive related craft experience.
- Handle equipment dispatching according to approved PTW and support service requests.
- Check daily equipment reports for issues.
- Ensure proper utilization and handling of all heavy equipment, including cranes, forklifts, manlifts, vacuum trucks, and boom trucks, checking their conditions before use.
- Monitor job status per PTW and ensure equipment requests are closed timely.
