NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Chief Safety Officer (CSO) reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

The Chief Safety Officer (CSO) at NYU Abu Dhabi is a senior executive responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and comprehensive integration of all campus safety functions. Reporting directly to the COO and working closely with NYU s Global Campus Safety leadership, the CSO oversees critical areas including risk management, emergency preparedness, threat assessment, community engagement, and 24/7 safety operations.

This role is paramount in cultivating a trusted, student-centered, and globally aligned safety environment. The CSO will lead a newly modernized Campus Safety Department, operating under a Hybrid Strategic-Operational Model, ensuring a proactive and responsive approach to campus security.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

• Set and implement a comprehensive campus safety strategy that aligns with NYUAD s mission, global standards, and local context.
• Lead strategic planning initiatives to proactively identify trends, gaps, and opportunities across risk, threat, and safety domains.
• Collaborate with NYU Global to ensure alignment with international campus safety protocols, standards, and systems.
• Promote a culture of preparedness, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision-making across the safety function.

Operational Excellence & Emergency Management

• Oversee all campus safety functions, including Operations, Risk & Threat, Emergency & Continuity, and Community Engagement.
• Ensure robust 24/7 coverage through operational readiness, shift supervision, incident response protocols, and dispatch coordination.
• Direct the design, testing, and evaluation of emergency preparedness plans, including evacuation, lockdown, shelter-in-place, and business continuity strategies.
• Serve as the university s Incident Commander during major safety events and crises, coordinating with local authorities and NYU s global risk network.

Student-Centered Safety & Campus Engagement

• Foster a visible and responsive Campus Safety presence within the NYUAD community, ensuring services are accessible, inclusive, and equitable.
• Partner with Student Affairs to support holistic student wellbeing, mental health referrals, and early intervention practices.
• Lead or co-chair safety-related working groups on student conduct, campus climate, and bystander intervention.
• Champion educational programs on personal safety, emergency awareness, and harm reduction.

Risk & Threat Governance

• Direct the integration of behavioral threat assessment with enterprise risk management strategies.
• Monitor and interpret threat data, intelligence reports, and emerging risks; communicate findings to senior leadership.
• Oversee case management processes for individuals of concern, including interdepartmental coordination and follow-up actions.
• Promote a university-wide culture of situational awareness, risk anticipation, and responsible reporting.

Compliance, Policy, and External Liaison

• Ensure campus compliance with applicable UAE safety regulations and institutional protocols.
• Develop, review, and maintain campus safety policies, Clery-like disclosure standards, and reporting structures.
• Act as primary liaison to local and federal UAE authorities, including law enforcement, civil defense, and emergency services.
• Represent NYUAD in regional and global safety forums; build relationships with peer institutions and professional bodies.

Required Education:

• Advanced degree (Master s or higher) in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Emergency Management, Public Administration, or a related field

Required Experience:

• Minimum years of progressively responsible experience in campus safety, public safety, or law enforcement, including senior leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success leading in multicultural and international environments, preferably within higher education or mission-driven institutions.
• Expertise in behavioral threat assessment, enterprise risk management, emergency planning (NIMS/ICS), and community policing.
• Deep understanding of higher education dynamics, student affairs integration, and community safety models

Preferred Experience:

• Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or equivalent.
• Behavioral Threat Assessment Certification (e.g., NABITA, ATAP).
• FEMA/NIMS ICS Certification ( level).
• Internal Affairs, Clery Act, or relevant Title IX policy experience is an advantage.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic is highly desirable
• Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.

• The Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer is primarily engaged in the design, modeling, and analysis of I & C engineering requirements on a project, tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work.
• Planning and executing Instrumentation engineering design for field instrumentation, Distributed Control System (DCS), Supervisory control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Integrated Control System (ICS), Fire and Gas, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Telecommunications systems. This entails the preparation of basic design, detailed design of the instrumentation and controls part of the project.
• SPI knowledge / experience is mandatory in Index, I/O List, Data sheets and Loop drawing
• Offshore design experience and RLE FPSO experience are mandatory.
• Preparing data sheets, Cause and effect diagrams, logic verifications, Input to interdepartmental interfaces
• Ensuring that the design is carried out as per the industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system.

We are looking for a Senior Welding Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Abu Dhabi UAE (Site based)

Expected start date: 15 Aug 2025

Contract Duration: 24 months

Qualification and Experience Required:

• Bachelor of Mechanical or metallurgical or other relevant engineering degree.
• Minimum 12+ Years of experience
• IWE/CWE certified Welding Engineer
• Experienced with the work about welding, PQR/WQT. Weld Map and root analysis to weld defects.
• Knowledge about welding, NDT/Coating & Painting.
• Fluent English communication is necessary.

• To facilitate and formulate Construction Supervision, management, coordination, administration and strict enforcement of the Construction scope included as part of FEED/EPC Contract in line with Client's objective of progressing Work Order completion timely and to project schedule
• Coordination of the FEED/EPC Contractor from construction through commissioning and handing over of FEED/EPC works
• Review and provide input to the overall construction/installation plan, procedures and construction/installation requirements identified in the EPC Packages developed by FEED contractor to ensure efficient constructability
• Ensure the construction/installation plan, procedures and requirement developed by EPC contractor comply with the EPC Scope of Work intent and requirements.
• Coordinate and assist fabrication works at EPC contractor's or EPC contractor's subcontractor's fabrication facilities
• Supervise, monitor and inspect the work EPC contractor and EPC contractor's subcontractors at the construction location (or place of manufacture where applicable) in accordance with ADNOC Onshore policy for supervision, quality assurance, control and inspection for the project.
• Maintain EPC contractor's adherence to safety, quality and schedule requirements for construction.
• Participate in identifying Construction slippage and recommend corrective action(s) to be performed by EPC contractor
• Provide construction input to estimates as and when required
• Review design documents and provide constructability input to designs
• Undertake visits to facilities/sites to support the development of construction activities, review designs and liaise with EPC Contractor or EPC Contractor's Subcontractors
• Identify any Specialist Vendor Support, Tools and Equipment required to implement scope
• Interface with ADNOC Onshore's Operations groups as & when necessary
• Taking part in site surveys and generation of reports where required
• Formulate Construction deliverables in line with Project procedures for content, and accuracy
• Assist with construction input to Bid preparation
• Development of Construction requirements for Bid estimates
• Thorough working knowledge and experience of construction completion procedures & Pre- commissioning activities
• Involved in Effective ChangeManagement
• Liaise closely with ADNOC Onshore PMT team on all aspects of design and technical data
• Coordinate & carry out required timely Constructability reviews, in line with Model progression
• Ensure the required Constructability Readiness reviews are addressed to suit the planned deliverables timing
• Liaise strongly with Procurement teamfor materials & equipment deliverables for alignment to the overall project schedules
• Coordinate with Project controls on the progress of work order issuance, and proposed completion data
• Participate in HSE improvement activities, promoting HSE elements throughout construction development where ever possible
• Full working knowledge of construction activities in relation to the relevant discipline
• Ability to review engineering design drawings and challenge work content for any improvement / cost effective methodology that can be adopted without compromise to safety. Also to be able to challenge engineering detail for possible areas of where hot work can be reduced/minimised.

• Bachelor of Engineering in related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, being in a similar Engineer role for at least 5 years
• Experience on EPC Onshore wellhead field development projects is highly preferable
