PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project is a diverse portfolio of projects that contribute to Abu Dhabi's growth. This includes developing community facilities such as schools, mosques, parks, etc. KBR will provide Project Management Consultancy services in project planning, controls, design and engineering management, and implementation of the development and early works packages.
THE ROLE
Reporting to and assisting the Senior and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Manager in overseeing daily operations related to management of the Consultants and Contractors occupational safety and health management systems in the construction industry by efficiently executing assigned duties and ensuring the strict adherence to the Client's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) management system requirements, ADOSH SF applicable Codes of Practices, mechanisms, directives from the UAE Authorities, and other pertinent regulations ensuring full alignment with KBR's Zero Harm and Courage to Care corporate philosophy.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the KBR Senior and OSH Manager, performs the variety of duties related to the implementation of the OSH programs, processes and strategies over a defined geographic area or a physical project, location and construction projects' worksites.
- Frequently interfaces with peers and all parties Project, OSH and Construction sites management. Likely to be required to participate in teams' collaborative efforts, as well as to work individually.
- Demonstrates a keen ability to observe Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards in construction projects and identify operational deficiencies. Exhibits effective communication skills, utilizing emotional intelligence to address intricate OSH management issues that demand profound expertise , meticulous attention, and situational awareness.
- Likely to engage in personnel development and organization of the Construction Projects OSH Workshops, by training/coaching, and other administrative activities, as well as make oral presentations to all projects' levels.
- Thorough implementation of the OSH Standards as per UAE OSH Legislation and Client's requirements for the OSH Deliverables: Project Risk Management, 2nd Party Client OSH Audits, Conduct OSH Audits, producing reports, OSH initiatives, providing trainings, presentations etc.
- Coordinating with all the project parties on Weather monitoring and related emergency response at site.
- Participating in the OSH Incident investigations by providing full support to the efforts to determine the root case, immediate cause, contributing facts and determine the organizational improvements to achieve the lasting corrective actions.
- Monitors the performance of Supervising Consultants and Contractors with respect to the Occupational Safety & Health by active participation in the OSH monitoring processes, i.e., OSH Inspections, OSH Audits, OSH initiatives and campaigns, OSH trainings, presentations etc., focusing on proactive measures and control strategies to prevent incidents and promote a work environment that prioritizes and emphasizes occupational safety and health.
- Coordinates with the OSH Manager on the issues related for systematic implementation of the OSHMS for necessary and lasting improvements.
- Conducts Daily, Weekly and Monthly construction project OSH Inspections to proactively identify prevalent Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) issues, and devise strategies/actions for immediate and substantial improvement.
- Support the Contractors and Supervising Consultants in the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health policies and procedures.
- Liaise with the Supervising Consultants and Contractors OSH Teams to ensure an effective flow of health and safety information and implementation of the specific processes to include development and implementation of the action plans to improve overall Safety and Health performance.
- Gathers the specific data and prepares the variety of the Occupational Safety and Health Statistics reports.
- In conjunction with the Senior and OSH Manager, reviews Contractors OSH, Logistics, Heat stress, Adverse Weather, Waste management, Traffic management, Fire and Emergency plans, MS/RAs ', and other related Plans and procedures prepared by the contractor and supervising consultant for compliance with existing Client and UAE Occupational and Health requirements.
- Provides Occupational Safety and Health technical expertise and specific trainings to the own program staff.
- Lease with Client OSH representatives and OSH authorities related to the overall OSHMS requirements.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Mandatory PMC / Consultancy experience.
- A minimum of 12 years of the vivid OSH experience in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years specifically in the role of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Engineer (OSH Assistant Manager) accompanied by OSH related Master's of Bachelor's degree from an accredited University (or equivalent); or NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6 equivalent or above) or Post-Secondary OSH Qualification (NVQ level 4/5).
- OSHMS ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor Certification and a thorough auding experience.
- ADOSH SF Practitioner certification (Preferred but not obligatory)
- High level of report writing, and data analytic skills.
- Valid safety training certificates indicating courses attended and subject matter expertise .
- UAE Major Construction Projects Experience (preferably work experience in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi) to ensure proposed candidate is familiar with updated statutory (Federal, Local-ADOSH SF) requirements as the knowledge is subject to assessment during the interview process.
- Candidate shall be in possession of the experience certificates (letters from the former employers detailing the individual's experience and previous roles).
- In addition to meeting all qualification prerequisites, the candidate(s) shall possess a thorough experience in implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety management systems specifics coupled with a strong character and proactive OSH Professional attitude .
- Proficient user of MS Office
- UAE Driving License.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform thermal design and rating of heat exchangers, air coolers, and process heaters.
Prepare heat exchanger datasheet.
Review and validate thermal sizing calculations, datasheets, and vendor documents.
Support the selection and specification of thermal equipment in accordance with ADNOC standards.
Collaborate with process and mechanical teams during FEED, detailed design, and brownfield modifications.
Evaluate thermal performance under different operating conditions and advise on performance improvements.
Troubleshoot operational issues related to heat transfer equipment.
Prepare thermal design reports and technical input for procurement and reviews.
Participate in technical audits and design reviews to ensure best practices and standards are maintained.
Mentor and train junior engineers in thermal design and engineering principles.
Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry trends in thermal engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 15 years' experience in oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years in thermal design engineering.
Experience with thermal software tools such as HTRI, Aspen EDR, or equivalent is preferred.
Familiar with ADNOC specifications, ASME/TEMA standards, and offshore project requirements.
Experience in reviewing vendor thermal designs and resolving technical deviations.
