The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to recruit a postdoctoral research associate to join this new initiative focusing on designing and developing novel medical devices for ultimate human use.
CENTMED oversees a variety of exciting projects developing new treatments and diagnostics for cardiovascular, neurologic, and metabolic diseases. The successful applicant will join a number of fascinating projects on engineering novel approaches to modulate physiology and neural activity in the brain, gastrointestinal (GI) tract, and other peripheral organs. These projects have a high potential for translation towards treating a variety of neurologic and metabolic disorders. These approaches entail device design and manufacturing, drug conjugation, neuroscience, and preclinical model experiments.
The candidate will work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment alongside PhD-level engineers and scientists, graduate students, and full-time researchers. They will also have the chance to contribute to other projects within CENTMED, working on cutting-edge initiatives spanning metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic diseases. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on next-generation surgical technologies, bridging the gap between engineering innovation and clinical application.
Applicants must have a PhD in an engineering or biomedical-related field. Excellent experimental skills relevant to the project (in particular device design and fabrication, drug conjugation, and in vitro and in vivo experimentation) are required. Proficiency in English is required.

The key objectives for this role are:
- Preparing and maintaining comprehensive commissioning documentation, including test results and certificates.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Executing Assigned Scopes of Work:
- The preparation and reporting of project cost budgets, and the tracking, management and reporting of project expenditure to enable robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle. Supports senior members of the cost team through the preparation and reporting of project cost budgets, ensuring budgets and reports are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures and standards. This will typically involve the review, analysis and reporting of actual and forecasted project costs against the project approved budget.
Providing discipline expertise:
- Assist and support in the development and maintenance of Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) for specific scopes
- Liaise with other Project Controls disciplines and functions, assist and support in the development of project budgets in accordance with the Basis of Estimate including statements of work scope, assumptions, man-hour estimates, narratives and review & comment of client documents
- Liaise with procurement, finance and time-capture functions, and third parties as required, to ensure accurate and timely capture of procurement, materials, subcontract and manhour costs. Ensure costs are allocated accurately in accordance with approved project WBS
- Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, to maintain awareness of project activities and their impact on the project budget, schedule and cost forecast
- Facilitate and manage the project work approval process in terms of accurate cost code allocation and initial budget set-up and approvals
- Assist and support in the development and maintenance of project cost budgets using appropriate software applications

Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and implement AtkinsRéalis internal HSE management system requirements and procedures for AtkinsRéalis site team.

Tasks
Maintenance Execution
• Ensure that the services are carried out in strict compliance with Company and Client current HSE rules
• Plan Preventive and Corrective Maintenance operations (routine and short-term)
• Coordinate all Cont ractor personnel for the smooth execution of the services
Maintenance planning
• Anticipate, plan and request the logistical means necessary for sm ooth maintenance operations, taking into account the various constraints when planning and carrying out operations
• Take part of site coordination meetings
• Ensure the Preparation of Maintenance reports for submission to Company
• Ensure the movement of spare parts according to the requirements of Maintenance operations
• Check and validate all technical reports in CMMS and ensure work history is comprehensively recorded in line with CMMS data quality requirements
• Carry out appropriate reporting, on the progress of maintenance operations and, if necessary, on difficulties encountered
• Ensure the Contractor Personnel complete and record all handovers (daily, weekly and rotation)
Technical Support/Methods
• Ensure the appropriateness of the operating and maintenance procedures employed by his crews and, if necessary, suggests improvements
• Ensure coordination between maintenance Operations and Preparation teams
• Keep an up-to-date list of works that cannot be performed except during inspections of machines or shutdowns
• Keep files of requests for studies of modifications and improvements
• Suggest corrective measures if a Maintenance backlog could become unmanageable
• Maintain a permane nt anticipation on the potential problems that could occur in the production plant, with close relationship with other sections, in order to prevent non-productive or non-efficient operations
Team Leading
Be responsible for his teams onsite, specifically:
• Organize the rotation schedules of his teams
• Identify the training needs of his teams and make training requests as appropriate
• Propose all necessary adjustments related to the Nationalization plan
• Propose appraisal and Competence assessment for his staff
• Set expectations, coach and mentor technicians with regards to acceptable attitudes and behaviors
HSE
• Demonstrate commitment to safety through language, behavior and actions
• Ensure the correct behavior of his teams in accordance with the general safety regulations of the subsidiary and, if needed, take the necessary corrective measures
• Ensure all necessary controls to mitigate risks and/or eliminate hazards
• Performance monitoring via regular observation of working practices, assessing compliance with safe systems of work and work instructions

Job Overview
The Specialist Marine Logistics Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing offshore logistics operations to support marine engineering projects. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of personnel, equipment, and materials across offshore platforms, vessels, and supply bases.
Requirements
Minimum Overall 17+ years of experience in Oil and Gas industry. Having good experience in EPC / Detailed Engineering projects in the Oil & Gas industry. 5+ years of experience in offshore logistics & marine operations . Minimum 5+ years of experience in Offshore projects would be a mandatory requirement. Must have worked at least 5 years' of experience in similar position for mega oil and gas FEED/ EPC project ( more than US$ 1 Billion) Proficiency in logistics software and marine navigation systems. Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and offshore safety standards. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is a MUST.
Key Responsibilities
