The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi are seeking motivated postdoctoral associates to engage in cutting-edge research on resilient concrete structures. Key research areas include:
- UHPC mix development, material characterization, structural design, and precast applications.
- Structural 3D printing (metals, concrete, and composites) at multiple scales.
- Soil-structure interaction and resilient foundation systems.
- Small-scale structural centrifuge testing and physical modeling.
- Advanced instrumentation and experimental simulation.
Candidates must hold a PhD in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Material Engineering. Degrees in related fields such as Nuclear Engineering or Material Science are also considered.
Required qualifications include excellent communication and presentation skills, a record of peer-reviewed publications, and experience mentoring undergraduate or graduate students. Additional qualifications that are advantageous include:
- Training or certification in areas like additive manufacturing, 3D concrete printing, soil-structure interaction, or centrifuge testing.
