Within Wood Abu Dhabi, we are actively expanding our project delivery portfolio to include Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Contracts.
As part of this growth, we are looking for personnel to join our team, either from internal Wood employees or the external market.
The type of personnel we are looking for is broad ranging including:
- Ambitious people that want to grow their career within this exciting contract execution model, where they will gain experience across the full project lifecycle from Detailed Engineering, through Procurement & Fabrication and into the Offshore Execution, covering Construction, Commissioning, Start -up and Handover to Operations.
- Experienced personnel with a background in PMC, EPC or EPCM projects, that can take on senior positions within the organisation and use their experience to steer the team to deliver outstanding performance across a portfolio of projects for Major Operators.
Projects within the EPCM model are wide and varied covering both onshore and offshore Brownfield Assets; typical examples include:
- Onshore Pipeline Controls System Upgrades
- Offshore Aset enhancement projects covering multiple system and equipment on large platforms, Wellhead Towers and Islands

Job objective:
The safe and effective delivery of a portfolio of Brownfield Safety Critical Projects on multiple offshore platforms; including large production complexes (multiple platforms bridge linked) and remote Wellhead Towers, located offshore within the UAE under an EPCM contracting model.
Typical projects include Fire & Gas System Upgrades, Power Upgrades, Control System Upgrades, Flare System Upgrades and Platform Structural Modifications.
Responsible for the leadership and management of a deployed supply chain project team providing all aspects of supply chain management including materials management, warehousing, expediting, procurement, subcontracts, negotiation and reporting.
Key aspects of the role include the direction and management of the supply chain activities including contract and subcontract management for the portfolio of projects which will be executed in parallel.
The administration and supervision of assigned supply chain personnel working within the project. Ensuring the competence and performance of all assigned supply chain personnel within their role.
Clear understanding of the client's head contract requirements including Wood responsibilities and incorporates those into appropriate project supply chain strategies, plans, procedures and terms and conditions.
Understand and manage threats to the commercial position of Wood and Client and develop plans to mitigate commercial risks. Has strong knowledge of commercial terms and conditions, interfaces with Wood legal/commercial experts and can initiate/discuss adaptations in order to reach a robust commercial agreement.
Regularly monitors and reports progress of all project procurement activities. Ensures team regularly update reports/systems with required information to allow accurate reporting and escalates any critical issues and risks to project management.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree qualification in engineering subject from an accredited university
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent with recognized professional body preferable

- Minimum 15 years relevant experience in major Brownfield oil/gas offshore projects including at least five (5) years in similar position.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- The Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer is primarily engaged in the design, modeling, and analysis of I & C engineering requirements on a project, tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work.
- Planning and executing Instrumentation engineering design for field instrumentation, Distributed Control System (DCS), Supervisory control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Integrated Control System (ICS), Fire and Gas, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Telecommunications systems. This entails the preparation of basic design, detailed design of the instrumentation and controls part of the project.
- SPI knowledge / experience is mandatory in Index, I/O List, Data sheets and Loop drawing
- Offshore design experience and RLE FPSO experience are mandatory.
- Preparing data sheets, Cause and effect diagrams, logic verifications, Input to interdepartmental interfaces
- Ensuring that the design is carried out as per the industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system.
- Co-ordination with Project and client
- Assisting in the preparation of project proposals and pre-qualification documents in what relates to Instrumentation engineering design.
- Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers and Discipline Heads
- Assimilating the evolution of new products and technology, and updating oneself on the latest international standards in terms of engineering design practices and their applications

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tender Preparation:
- Analyse tender documents (RFPs, RFQs, ITTs) and identify key requirements for your discipline.
- Coordinate with other Engineering disciplines and other functions where there is a requirement to ensure alignment and common strategy for submission.
- Identify clarifications in line with the tender timescales.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including CTR's, technical write-up, qualifications, input to schedule

- Technical & Commercial Evaluation:
- Conduct risk assessments and identify deviations or clarifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Executing Assigned Scopes of Work:
- The preparation and reporting of project cost budgets, and the tracking, management and reporting of project expenditure to enable robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle. Supports senior members of the cost team through the preparation and reporting of project cost budgets, ensuring budgets and reports are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures and standards. This will typically involve the review, analysis and reporting of actual and forecasted project costs against the project approved budget.
Providing discipline expertise:
- Assist and support in the development and maintenance of Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) for specific scopes
- Liaise with other Project Controls disciplines and functions, assist and support in the development of project budgets in accordance with the Basis of Estimate including statements of work scope, assumptions, man-hour estimates, narratives and review & comment of client documents
- Liaise with procurement, finance and time-capture functions, and third parties as required, to ensure accurate and timely capture of procurement, materials, subcontract and manhour costs. Ensure costs are allocated accurately in accordance with approved project WBS
- Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, to maintain awareness of project activities and their impact on the project budget, schedule and cost forecast
- Facilitate and manage the project work approval process in terms of accurate cost code allocation and initial budget set-up and approvals
- Assist and support in the development and maintenance of project cost budgets using appropriate software applications

The Senior HSE Engineer will be responsible for:

Execute technical work for FEED and detail design within designated Cost Time & Resource (CTR) scopes. Implement, practice and Monitor Quality Management System (QMS) in FEED office projects. Carry out appropriate discipline, inter discipline checks and review of engineering, and design work and contributes to excellent HSE performance throughout the engineering phase of the project life cycle.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- The HSE Advisor will be responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety and the Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Polices and Client requirements.
- Support a team of Advisors to assist in the delivery of Wood EPCM projects.
- Provide visibility and interface of the HSE function. Work in collaboration with other members of the team and the wider business to facilitate high performance delivery through successful implementation of processes and systems, in a sustainable manner.
- Contribute to the development of the HSE Assurance Plan to deliver high risk audits across the area or Division of responsibility; provide advice and recommendations of improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the study and preparation of site development plans including the earthwork calculations as well as the preparation of the BoQs related to the earthworks (excavation and backfill) under the direction of the Lead Civil / Structural Engineer
- Responsible of the Design of underground networks (storm water, sanitary water, oily water etc.)

- Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the lead or supervising Civil Engineer
