As a sheet metal technician, you will be responsible for performing structural maintenance tasks on aircraft in accordance with approved technical data, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

• Prepare for and perform repair, modification, installation, and replacement of aircraft structures and structural parts as per task cards.
• Review task cards with the engineer/supervisor to confirm work scope, documentation, priorities, and safety precautions before starting work.
• Conduct inspections, repairs, and modifications to the required standards, accurately identifying, recording, and reporting defects or damage.
• Rectify structural defects and carry out installations/replacements using approved technical data and instructions from the engineering department.
• Ensure proper tooling/equipment is drawn from stores to perform tasks, returning all of it in good condition following completion of work.
• Execute assigned task cards and sign off in the maintenance information system in a timely manner without errors.
• Maintain effective communication with engineers, technicians, and relevant teams to ensure smooth coordination, task continuity, and clear handover procedures.

• Hold a diploma or certificate in aircraft maintenance engineering (structural/airframe discipline), or an equivalent technical qualification.

Job Summary:

• Assist maintenance technicians in carrying out scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks, servicing, fault finding and repair on all equipment/vehicles and plant maintained by various workshops.

• Plan individual tasks on a daily basis in their area of work
• Maintains good housekeeping in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of tools.
• Assists in diagnosing and repairing faults/defects effectively on equipment/vehicles and plant under breakdown ensuring that down time is minimized.
• Ensures that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management Systems
• Ensures that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment/vehicle and plant damage.
• Informs the Maintenance Technician/Senior Maintenance Technician of any spare parts & tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of all maintenance works.
• Assists in carrying out scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturers recommendation, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, and all Legal & regulatory requirements) on the various equipment/vehicles and plants to ensure reliable/optimum utilization of the same. Assists in the daily inspection of all equipment/vehicles and plant for operational reliability & safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the operational area.
• Executes all allocated tasks related to ULD Repairs/ Assembly activities as per the procedure mentioned in MOE, manufacturers recommendation, EASA/ GCAA regulation, and safety standards.
• Assist maintenance technicians to maintain/repair facility equipment's including HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing.
• Assist in maintaining/repairing Ground Power Unit (GPU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) and generators.

• 2 years Trade certificate course in an engineering
• Experience in maintenance - Facilities/ Auto/ Electric/ Civil Mechanic within a large maintenance organization, ideally aviation ground support and/or Cargo Handling Industry
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical/electronic/automobile/air-con & refrigeration systems of Light Vehicles or Material Handling Equipment/Systems. Experience in maintenance of Ground Support Equipment or Heavy Vehicles or would be an advantage.
• Any specialized training on hydraulics/lifting equipment/conveyor systems/material handling equipment/PLC's/AC-DC motor control systems/Traction batteries & chargers would be an advantage.
• Proven ability to communicate in English (verbal & written).
• Good understanding of the MOE, EASA/ GCAA regulation and safety standards required at the ULD Workshop (applicable only for ULD section)
