Basic Function and Scope

The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of aviation maintenance functions, including material planning, production control, and maintenance execution. This role supports and deputizes for the Program Manager, ensuring contractual deliverables, personnel performance, and aircraft readiness standards are met.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor s Degree in Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation, or Engineering (Master s in a related discipline preferred)
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Six Sigma or similar process improvement qualification
  • In-depth experience in MRO operations, maintenance programs, and sustainment planning
Experience
  • Minimum 8 years in a supervisory role managing aviation maintenance and modification programs, preferably military
  • Strong knowledge of lifecycle logistics and multi-aircraft material planning
  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing OEM/vendor relations
Language Skills
  • Must be proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage aircraft maintenance personnel, resources, and equipment
  2. Ensure compliance with all applicable maintenance standards and safety regulations
  3. Prepare for audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  4. Oversee and support departmental managers to maintain effective operations
  5. Produce regular reports and monthly contract deliverables (CDRL)
  6. Direct maintenance activities including inspections, modifications, and repairs
  7. Ensure aircraft meet airworthiness standards through strict adherence to technical manuals
  8. Forecast and plan scheduled maintenance around operational requirements
  9. Oversee related functions such as logistics, quality control, and IT
  10. Develop and implement training programs for new aircraft types
  11. Support deployment operations with procedural guidance
  12. Maintain contractual KPIs and escalate risks as necessary
  13. Act as primary interface with customer leadership on maintenance program matters

**Position Summary**
Overall job purpose is to carry out maintenance tasks on an aircraft in accordance with Jet Aviation procedures, authority regulations and customer requirements.
**Main Responsibilities**
Quality, Safety and Environment
- Ensure maintenance performed on aircraft systems is conducted in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Certification of work and release of aircraft systems complies with relevant Licence Categories
- Actively participate and comply with JAAS WH&S and Environment programs and Aviation Safety Management System
People Leadership
- Operational management of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (Fitters) providing clear directions for allocated maintenance
Commercial Management
- Daily management and control of assigned aircraft maintenance
- Responsible for the adequate allocation of resources available for timely completion of assigned aircraft systems modification, maintenance, repair or installation
- Ensure parts are ordered at correct timeframe to meet project or job deadlines whilst maintaining appropriate cost structure
- Review job packs for assigned projects or jobs and ensure they are complete and reflect customer requirements
- Review daily reporting on estimated versus actual hours and take action as directed to correct or prevent over runs
- Using the company ERP to ensure time and attendance is correlated with projects
Sales and Customer Management
- Provide regular feedback to the Director of Maintenance on the progress of planned system modification, maintenance, service or installation
- Provide input into response to customer queries and complaints
**Main Responsibilities Cont.**
Regulatory and Compliance
- Ensure maintenance performed on assigned aircraft system is conducted in compliance with the relevant Civil Aviation regulations, Military or OEM requirements
- Accountable for updating own knowledge on regulatory requirements
Further tasks
- Actively support and participate in the JAAS Core Values and Safety, Security and Environment policies and procedures as detailed in the JAAS Governance and Polices Manual.
- Ensure smooth workflow on assigned jobs with minimal disruptions by effective use of allocated manpower and resources
- Aircraft work packs and logbook entries are completed in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
- Ensure assigned modification, maintenance, repair or installation performed is carried out in compliance with company policies and procedures and relevant Civil Aviation Regulations
- ASRs (Over & Above defects) are raised at time of identification of additional work and are accurate
- Track progress of work to ensure budgetary control is maintained.
- Provide directions to AMEs and Technicians to assist them to meet budgets and customer delivery schedules.
- Implement remedial action to correct project or job overruns
- Provide input into parts ordering for assigned projects to ensure parts are available to meet scheduled delivery times.
- Regular audit of project documentation to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
- Provide technical input into customer queries and/or complaints.
**Minimum Requirements**
Hold an unrestricted GCAA license with B412 endorsement. (Preference will be given to candidates additionally holding CASA & EASA)
- Strong knowledge of CAR 145
- Recent B412 5-year inspection experience.
- Experience working in an aircraft maintenance facility performing system maintenance and modifications
- Able to run several projects at once
- General Aviation Installation and Design experience
- Demonstrated understanding of Aviation regulatory requirements for Aircraft systems maintenance

Job Description:

Responsible for carrying out aircraft cabin related maintenance tasks on Royal Jet aircraft in accordance with laid down procedures and regulations. Work as part of a team under the direction and guidance of the assigned Licensed Engineer and Aircraft Senior Cabin maintenance technician.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance tasks as directed by a Certifying Licensed Engineer, Aircraft Cabin maintenance technician and duty Supervisor

  • Carry out routine aircraft servicing tasks as required in accordance with maintenance manual procedures, observing all safety procedures and manufacturers/company regulations. Depending on the discipline this may include conducting cabin general visual inspections.
  • Carry out any component changes as necessary as part of the troubleshooting process. The mechanic must have the ability to use and comply fully with the manufacturer’s reference manuals requirements to understand the removal, installation, servicing/testing procedure and to ensure that the correct materials.
  • Effectively use any specialized tooling or test equipment that may be required as part of the checking, testing, replacement or servicing of a system or component. The ability to understand the need for such equipment’s as references in the aircraft manufacturer’s manuals is essential.
  • Complete knowledge of the airport authorities’ regulations regarding driving and aircraft movements may be a requirement depending on the work discipline. This will include the safe movement around aircraft on the ramp/in base including an understanding of all signs and road markings of working in such an environment if required.
  • Ensure the maintenance of tools and equipment in the relevant workplace and conducting safe working practices at all times.

Responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks on Emirates and third party aircraft components in accordance with company procedures and regulations. The Aircraft Technician works as part of a team under the direction and guidance of the assigned Licensed Aircraft Engineer within the appropriate trade/cross trade disciplines for which they have been trained.

  • Carry out routine aircraft/engine/component servicing/ maintenance and/or approved structural repairs compliant to manufacturers procedures whilst observing all safety procedures for fluid replenishment, aircraft refuelling, aircraft systems charging/servicing as required.
  • Complete any component replacement and other maintenance activities as directed by immediate Supervisor. This will include the ability to obtain and understand Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts catalogue (IPC), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) or other approved documentation required to carry out the task.
  • Assist Licensed Aircraft Engineers in trouble shooting, defect rectifications and carrying out modifications while also performing instructions contained in job card.
  • Participate and promote in creating a safety culture in an effort to minimise accidents and highlight any deficiencies/failures that can lead to such accidents. Ensure all work locations are kept clean and maintain excellent housekeeping. This includes being aware and communicating safety shortfalls.
  • Maintain vigilance in ensuring work areas (including the ramp), vehicles, stands, lockers are free of FOD and that toolboxes are regularly audited, maintained and kept clean.
  • Responsible to maintain knowledge of airport safety regulations including holding and maintaining an Airport Driving Permit. Should be fully conversant and compliant with airport manoeuvring area requirements.
  • Be responsible for managing performance by working closely with supervisor on performance management processes, using My BC system to agree on development plans including training and development requirements.
  • Ensure prompt attendance to all allocated tasks with the intent to maximise ground time and avoid operational delays/disruptions. This includes obtaining aircraft/component status brief from Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE), reports and preparing work accordingly. Communicate any aircraft/ component/ structural defects to the LAE in a timely manner and ensure relevant information is during shift handovers.
  • As and when required, use current knowledge and experience in aircraft maintenance to assist in Resource allocation using RMS / RTC.
