    Airframe and Powerplant Technician Overview

    The airframe and powerplant technician plays a vital role in ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft by performing maintenance, repair, inspection, and servicing tasks. This includes troubleshooting mechanical issues using technical manuals and blueprints while adhering to FAA regulations.

    Key aspects of this position include scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on airframes and engines of fixed-wing and/or rotary aircraft, as well as troubleshooting mechanical and system issues and performing repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and FAA regulations.

    Responsibilities:
    • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on airframes and engines of fixed-wing and/or rotary aircraft.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical and system issues and perform repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and FAA regulations.
    • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and other technical documents.
    • Complete all necessary paperwork and maintenance logs accurately, including parts usage and labor hours.
    • Operate ground support equipment and obtain necessary qualifications for its use.
    • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and clients regarding aircraft status and maintenance needs.
    • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, controlled, and calibrated.
    • Adhere to safety procedures, quality standards, and environmental regulations.
    • Participate in required training programs and stay current with changes in technology and regulatory requirements.
    Requirements:
    • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
    • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience maintaining aircraft (military rotary or fixed wing).
    • Experience with business jets (preferred but not required).
    • Strong understanding of FAA regulations and maintenance procedures.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
    • Must own and maintain a complete set of basic hand tools.
    • Ability to work in varying conditions, including outdoors in inclement weather.
    • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed.
    • Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge if applicable.
    • Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, maintenance tracking software, etc.).
