• Farm Planning and Consultancy:
• Collaborate with farm owners and managers to develop long-term plans for farm management, including optimizing animal health, production efficiency, and profitability.
• Provide consultancy services on farm infrastructure, equipment, and animal welfare standards.
• Emergency Care:
• Respond to and provide emergency veterinary care in cases of sudden illness, accidents, or injury on the farm.
• Perform emergency surgeries, administer emergency treatments, and coordinate with veterinary hospitals if higher levels of care are required.
• Compliance and Regulations:
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to animal welfare and farm management.

The veterinary technician will be required to perform tasks such as restraint of patients for procedures performed by veterinary staff, coordinating medical procedures, treatment, routine husbandry behavioral scheduling, and administering injections or oral medication in accordance with hospital policy.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for observing animal behavior and/or health conditions, reporting findings to veterinarians and hospital management, and maintaining and cleaning medical areas, kennels, surgical rooms, and equipment. Additionally, they will participate in the medical care and rehabilitation of rescued wildlife, including marine mammals, avian species, reptiles, and marine life.

Requirements for this position include a veterinary nursing diploma/degree or equivalent, ability to obtain a license or certification for veterinary nursing technician in the UAE as required, at least 2 years of proven experience in a veterinary hospital as a veterinary nursing technician, excellent English communication skills, and teamwork abilities.

Additional requirements include flexibility and adaptability in response to changing animal collection needs, knowledge of current computer applications including MS Office, and basic mathematical skills. Diploma/degree equivalencies are considered.
