Key Responsibilities Planning & Strategies- Contribute to implementing plans and strategies to develop and launch publishing programmes and initiatives to support and expand the publishing movement in the UAE and the Arab world, in line with the priorities and objectives of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre and Administration.
- Provide necessary support to review and verify facts, dates, statistics, and other details using the means and sources specified by the team and carry out audits and tasks to correct errors, wording, language, etc.
- Assist planning and organization of content editing and proofreading of books and publications according to the established publishing method, standards, policies, requirements, and details and in line with set timelines and objectives.
- Provide necessary support to review, receive, and approve the contents of books and publications prior to their development and publication, and supervise the coordination of related tasks and responsibilities with the publication editors on the team.
- Assist in reviewing, evaluating, and editing all contents, written manuscripts, and drafts submitted for publication, and coordinate with writers and authors regarding any change or modification of content, style, organization or publication.
- Participate in the allocation and organizing of images, illustrations, etc. in line with the contents of books and publications, and in accordance with the principles, basics, and standards of design and printing established.
- Provide the necessary guidance for the development and production of books and publications, including - but not limited to - pictures, designs, printing, and other details, ensure the production is according to specified timetables and allocated budgets.
- Coordinate and organize meetings and participate in events, seminars, forums related to the publishing and translation sector and in local and international book fairs.
- Communicate with partners and publishers about publishing initiatives and projects as directed by the team, and coordinate with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre teams regarding the provision and care of all intellectual property rights.
- Document and maintain reports, records, and documents related to deployment programmes and initiatives and provide the team with any reports and documents as needed. Assist the team in preparing reports on developments in publishing initiatives , programmes, and other related reports , and submitting them to the team for review and facilitating decision-making .
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities related to the role at the request of the direct manager
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Demonstrate compliance to the organization values and ethics at all times to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the organization.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes , and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement , and cost reduction.
