Job Summary

The Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards. The Mechanic ensures the reliability, safety, and performance of vehicles serviced within the workshop.

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Perform mechanical repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and brake systems.

Overview of the role:

The primary focus of this role is to carry out dealership services on customer vehicles as per company standards and ensure optimum quality with increased productivity and technical efficiency, thereby individually contributing to generate workshop revenue without any repeat concerns.

What you will do:

• Prompt execution of service repairs requested on the repair order as per schedule provided

• Report additional job required in car with cost estimate

• Maintain check sheets and log sheets

• Upkeep tools and equipment in the individual bay as per company standards

• Proper diagnosis and trouble shooting

• Conduct final inspection as per the standard operating procedures

• Deliver the desired efficiency and productivity as per targets given

• Ensure prompt punch in and punch out to get the accurate booking hours

• Complete the training course/internal assessment and other on the job training as per the schedule provided by the Training Manager

• Enroll and get certifications as per the principal’s guidelines

• Ensure follow up of standard operating procedures in technician role

• Ensure fire extinguishers are kept close by for immediate action in case of working with fuel systems

• Report all incidents to the supervisor

Overview of the role
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Master Technician to join our Honda Service/Body shop Department across Oman. The ideal candidate will ensure that all assigned service jobs are executed in line with established work procedures, time standards, and housekeeping standards to meet or exceed productivity objectives

What you will do
• Perform basic repairs and troubleshooting on engines, drivetrains, and chassis
• Independently carry out Level 1 repairs, such as replacing brakes, clutches, steering, and suspension.
• Conduct Level III diagnosis and repair rectification using high-tech diagnostic and repair tools and equipment
• Collect and present technical information for feedback to principals for product improvement
• Ensure awareness of hazards and risks associated with work activities and maintain appropriate PPEs
• Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and ensure your actions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others
• Ensure quality of work to avoid errors/rework and resolve customer concerns to improve customer engagement
• Comply with company QHSE guidelines and SOPs, report all incidents to the supervisor, and participate in safety awareness trainin

Required skills to be successful
• High School graduate, Technical School graduate, ITI, or Diploma in Automobile Engineering.
• 5-7 years of experience in a reputed workshop as an Auto Mechanic
• Preferably a certified Pro-Technician
• Valid GCC driving license

To deal with the inspection, diagnosing and repair of Electric Vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools to identify the source of problems and repair vehicles using Fix It Right process, to provide unique customer experience in order to improve customer retention in compliance with BYD standards in DIP .

What you will do:

• Diagnose complex system faults on Electric Vehicles, through to preventative maintenance
• Support, coach and guide other members of the team in the workshop by advising diagnosis procedures and efficient / correct work procedures
• Ensuring quality by producing extremely low level of return jobs
• Developing high level of communication by ensuring clear explanation of the work completed or required is well documented and clear to understand by Service Advisor, Technical Advisor, Technical Support and the Customer.
• Undertake great effort to improve efficiency by providing constructive inputs regarding work process, procedure, work environment, tools and equipment etc.
• Making safe electric vehicles to be worked on by junior technicians
• Provide technical input to spare parts staff to assist in correct part and tooling identification and supply
• Maintain safe working environment for anyone work on or near electric vehicles, working closely with HSSE and providing recommendations as required
  

Required skills to be successful:

• In depth knowledge and experience of EV components and systems both high and low voltage
• Master Technician certification or industry equivalent
• Able to support, coach and guide other members of the team in the workshop
• Up to date with the latest technology used in EV cars

The Automotive Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, quality repairs, and timely service delivery. What you will do:

• Responsible for diagnosis, general repair, and periodic maintenance with advanced general repair (AGR) and accessories fitment as per repair manual in order to achieve productivity, utilization and set sold hours target.
• Create electronic warranty approval request in Dealer Management System (SAP).
• Start to end interactions with the customers during the entire customer journey, from the time of receiving the booking to the handover of the car and invoice.
• Proper usage of special servicetools and general tools inventory.
• Responsible for delivery of the vehicle on promise delivery time or customer demand.
• Daily interactions with Andons and the Aftersales Manager to assist in developing technical skills in the team.
• Keep abreast of all the latest developments in automotive manufacturing and technical advancements.
• Thorough knowledge of parts and components installation.
• Well versed on (Oiriginal Equipment Manufacturer) OEMand Distributor standards.
• Ability to write technical reports on advanced general repair (AGR) cases after performing diagnosing.

• Capability to follow the system of quality control inspection to prevent or correct faulty workmanship which falls below the standard.

Overview of the role:

• The purpose of the role is to deal with the inspection, diagnosing and repair of vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools to identify the source of problems and repair vehicles using Fix it Right in order to improve customer retention in compliance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)and Al-Futtaim standards, deliver the revenue budgets and impart technical knowledge to others such as new joiners, apprentices, and ois responsible for the entire customer journey in the workshop from receiving the service booking call, to booking an appointment, receiving the car, repairing the car, and the handover and invoicing to the customer for Volvo in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

What you will do:

• Responsible for diagnosis, general repair, and periodic maintenance with advanced general repair (AGR) and accessories fitment as per repair manual in order to achieve productivity, utilization and set sold hours target.
• Create electronic warranty approval request in Dealer Management System (SAP).
• Start to end interactions with the customers during the entire customer journey, from the time of receiving the booking to the handover of the car and invoice.
• Proper usage of special servicetools and general tools inventory.
• Responsible for delivery of the vehicle on promise delivery time or customer demand.
• Daily interactions with Andons and the Aftersales Manager to assist in developing technical skills in the team.
• Keep abreast of all the latest developments in automotive manufacturing and technical advancements.
• Thorough knowledge of parts and components installation.
• Well versed on (Oiriginal Equipment Manufacturer) OEMand Distributor standards.
• Ability to write technical reports on advanced general repair (AGR) cases after performing diagnosing.
• Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, repair manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Capability to follow the system of quality control inspection to prevent or correct faulty workmanship which falls below the standard.
• Contributes to the success of the business by staying focused on own performance, sharing knowledge, expertise and resources with others.
• Understands and works within protocol where necessary, and understands and performs to the requirements of Volvo.

Required Skills to be successful:
1.- Automotive experience.
2.- Indepth technical skills.
3.- Experience with service and maintenance in the workshop.
4.- Customer management experience and communication skills.

About the Team:

• Reporting to the Aftersales Manager and managing a team and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders.

What equips you for the role:

• Bachelor or Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering.
• IMI LV Master Technician (L3-4) or equivalent.
• High Level Brand Certification Eg: Diagnostic Master, Gold, L3 etc.
• 4-6 years as Light Vehicle Technician – of which at least 2 years as a Diagnostic Technician and some experience as Service Advisor in an automotive dealership.
• Basic knowledge of Electric Vehicles.
• Technical skills, customer relationship management skills and user skills in tools and equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Valid UAE drivers license.
