Automation Systems Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced Automation Systems Engineer to develop and execute test plans to ensure the reliability and functionality of automation systems.

• Main Responsibilities:
• Develop test plans to guarantee automation system dependability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues, optimize system performance, and minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular system maintenance including upgrades, backups, and configuration activities.
• Provide training and support to operations teams on the proper use and maintenance of automation systems.
• Document all processes, configurations, and changes related to automation systems.
• Prepare progress and root cause analysis reports.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automation, specifically as a PLC/RTU Programmer and commissioning.
• Experience with various PLC platforms and RTUs such as Schneider M580, Rockwell Control & Compact Logix, Siemens S7300, S7400, S71500, PCS7, WinCC SCADA, WinCC OA SCADA, and TBOX RTU.
• Experience with open communication protocols used in automation like Modbus Serial, Modbus RTU, BACnet MSTP, OPC, MQTT, DNP3, etc.
• Familiarity with control panels wiring and instrumentation.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings related to control systems, such as P&IDs, layouts, control panel drawings, and troubleshoot wiring issues.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• UPDA holder.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Preference for candidates with an international driving license.

• Design, develop and debug control logic programs for automation purposes.
• Define control requirements per application and select appropriate hardware to develop new control systems.
• Implement engineering changes to production equipment and coordinate with engineering and maintenance on machine control modifications.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing systems activities and design department related standards and procedures.
• Implement and maintain data collection system from plant floor manufacturing equipment.
• Integrate third party systems such as Modbus, BACnet, LON, KNX/Dali to BMS/BAS Supervisory System.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have the following qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Two years of experience in automation and one to two years experience in HGVAC controls of any DDC/PLC controls manufacturer.
• Experience in third party system integrations such as Modbus, M-Bus, BACnet, Lon, KNX/Dali.

Skillset

You will need the following skills and abilities:

• Two years of experience with PLC programming software.
• Familiarity with Trend, Honeywell, ABB, SIEMENS, ETS 5, Niagara 4, JACE8000 hardware/software preferred.
