The Audio Visual Manager is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of audio, visual, and multimedia services across the resort. This includes managing AV operations for meetings, conferences, weddings, entertainment, and lifestyle events in line with SO/ brand standards. The AV Manager leads a team of technicians, ensures seamless event execution, and maintains all technical equipment to deliver bold, stylish, and memorable experiences that define the SO/ brand within the All-Inclusive Collection.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Event Support

• Manage the setup, operation, and breakdown of audio, video, lighting, and stage equipment for all events and entertainment programs.
• Partner with the Events, Entertainment, and Recreation teams to deliver innovative and high-quality guest experiences.
• Provide technical support to clients, event planners, and internal stakeholders before and during events.
• Maintain detailed event checklists, run sheets, and ensure timely execution of AV elements.

Equipment & Maintenance

• Oversee the maintenance, inventory, and storage of AV equipment, ensuring all systems are fully operational.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules and troubleshoot technical issues quickly.
• Research and recommend upgrades or new technologies to enhance the resort’s AV capabilities.
• Lead, train, and schedule a team of AV Technicians to provide professional, high-standard support.
• Foster a collaborative, guest-focused culture within the AV team.
• Provide coaching and technical training to upskill the team and maintain service excellence.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and brand standards in the handling and installation of AV equipment.
• Monitor the safe use of lighting, sound, and stage rigging during events.
• Maintain documentation of risk assessments, incident reports, and compliance checks.

Administration & Budgeting

• Manage AV department budgets, including forecasting, procurement, and cost control.
• Negotiate with external AV vendors and service providers when outsourcing is required.
• Track and report on AV expenses, usage, and performance metrics.

• Degree/diploma in Audio Visual Technology, Event Production, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in AV management in luxury hotels, resorts, or large-scale event venues.
• Strong technical expertise in audio systems, video projection, lighting design, staging, and multimedia production.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to work with guests, clients, and cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in English required; additional languages are an advantage.

Role Overview:

As an Audio Visual Manager, you will participate in the construction and maintenance of our studios. It's your job to ensure that programs are broadcast on time and of the highest quality. You'll carry out updates and repairs as well as operate and maintain the systems. The perfect candidate should be able to build studios from scratch according to the provided plans and diagrams, manage the technical support team and maintain various broadcast systems.

Responsibilities:

Overview

The Junior IT Systems, AV and Desktop Support role provides first-line technical support across IT systems, audio-visual (AV) infrastructure, and desktop environments. The role assists staff, faculty, and students with troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and AV-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and a high standard of customer service.

The position is based at Middlesex University Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

IT Systems Support

• Provide first-level support for system access, accounts, and software applications.
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining servers, storage, and network infrastructure under senior team guidance.
• Support system backups, security updates, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT staff or vendors as necessary.

Desktop Support

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Provide end-user support for Windows, macOS, and common productivity tools (MS Office, Teams, etc.).
• Maintain and update desktop images, antivirus, and security patches.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and update the knowledge base.

Audio-Visual (AV) Support

• Provide setup and operational support for classrooms, lecture halls, and events using AV systems.
• Assist in configuring projectors, interactive displays, microphones, video conferencing tools, and streaming platforms.
• Troubleshoot AV equipment issues promptly during teaching sessions and events.
• Support staff in using collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

General IT Support

• Log and track incidents, service requests, and resolutions via the IT Helpdesk system.
• Deliver excellent customer service and clear communication to end users.
• Assist with IT equipment inventory management and asset tracking.
• Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and deployments as required.

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1–2 years’ experience in IT support (internship or entry-level role accepted).
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office Suite, and basic networking concepts.
• Familiarity with audio-visual systems (projectors, conferencing tools, AV control systems).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Exposure to Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration, or ITIL practices.
• Experience supporting hybrid teaching/learning environments.

The AV Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining all audio-visual equipment and systems used in the hotel’s event spaces, conference rooms, public areas, and guest service initiatives. The role ensures that meetings, events, entertainment programs, and digital services run smoothly with top-quality sound, visuals, and connectivity. In a resort or island setting, the technician is also expected to be resourceful and proactive due to the limited immediate technical support available.

• Prepare and set up AV equipment for meetings, weddings, conferences, entertainment shows, and special events.

• Operate audio mixers, microphones, speakers, projectors, video walls, smart screens, lighting systems, video conferencing tools, and other multimedia systems.

• Ensure equipment is functioning properly before, during, and after events; provide on-site support for presenters or performers.

• Perform daily checks, maintenance, and inventory control of AV equipment.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to sound, video, lighting, projection, or connectivity on the spot.

• Repair or coordinate repairs of damaged or malfunctioning equipment.

• Diploma or technical certificate in Audio-Visual Technology, Electronics, IT, or a related field.

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar AV technician role, preferably in a hotel, resort, or event venue.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Sound systems (mixers, amplifiers, speakers)

  • Video conferencing tools (Zoom, Teams, Webex)

  • Projectors, LED screens, smart TVs

  • Lighting control panels and stage lighting

  • AV over IP and wireless presentation systems

• Basic understanding of network and IT systems integration is a plus.
