BIM/ CAD Technician

• Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.

• Utilizes technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies.

• Becomes familiar with various standards and codes such as ANSI, PFI, and ASME.

• Compiles data and performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.

• Understands how to read orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and supplier/manufacturer drawings.

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Minimum five years demonstrable experience in the drafting experience on infrastructure projects.

• Must have experience on the use of computer aided drafting software, such as AutoCAD.AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with good capability in oral and written communication skills;

• Computer skills and the ability to utilize design software are mandatory

BIM/CAD Technician (Infra & Dry Utilities / Telecom, ICT & ELV)

Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented BIM/CAD Technician to join our team In this role you will be required to perform from basic to moderately-difficult design/drafting assignments.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Experience on infrastructure dry utilities mainly Telecom, ICT and ELV systems.

• Work closely with CAD & BIM Managers and Design Leads to complete the assigned project deliverable in compliance with the required Standards and Quality.

• Works with CAD & BIM Managers, Design Leads and Engineers to develop engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, component details from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures, and to ensure timely completion.

• Review each drawing for readability, presentation and adherence to standards, in accordance to company QA/QC process.

• Good knowledge in content creation and able to create different types of parametric and non-parametric families.

• Collaborate and communicate with other disciplines on coordination issues.

• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

• Candidates with knowledge on local authority standards and regulations (DEWA, RTA, etc.) are preferred.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• 3-Years Diploma/ Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and /or Draughtman related.

• Minimum 5+ years of MEA/UAE CAD drafting experience in infrastructure and dry utilities projects mainly Telecom, ICT and ELV systems.

• Software experience required: AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, Navisworks.

• Common Data Environment: ProjectWise & Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

• Ability to communicate clearly in English.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented BIM/CAD Technician to join our team! In this role, you will perform basic to moderately-difficult design/drafting assignments, especially in the Storm Water Drainage team.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Work closely with BIM Lead and Design Leads to ensure the project’s compliance with the given policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
2. Utilize a CAD workstation and work with BIM lead, Design Leads, and Engineers to develop engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and component details from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
3. Understand the BIM modeling process and manage all BIM-related activities from project start-up to project completion.
4. Review each drawing for readability, presentation, and adherence to standards, in accordance with the company QA/QC process.
5. Good knowledge in content creation and able to create different types of parametric and non-parametric families.
6. Strong knowledge in LOD requirements.
7. Good knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks, with experience in clash detection and producing clash reports.
8. Able to produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model.
9. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
2. Minimum 5+ years of MEA/UAE CAD drafting experience in wet utilities projects including drainage, stormwater, irrigation, sewerage, etc.
3. Must have software experience in MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D, and AutoCAD.
4. Good knowledge in BIM, understanding LOD requirements and BIM processes.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

1. Software experience with Navisworks is advantageous.
2. Common Data Environment: ProjectWise, ACC.
