POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Head Coach, the Wellness Coach is responsible for leading and motivating Gritncode Members through yoga, Pilates, reformer classes, and personalized training sessions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Warmly welcome and engage with Gritncode Members, assess their needs, and note health conditions to provide appropriate program suggestions.

Ensure maximum member satisfaction through a personalized approach and recognition.

Implement innovative yoga, Pilates, and reformer techniques that align with Gritncode's culture and mission.

Assist in creating in-house promotions and activities to boost sales and member engagement.

Maintain a professional attitude and handle difficult situations diplomatically.

Perform front desk procedures efficiently, including booking and handling customer interactions.

Adhere to compensation guidelines for handling customer complaints, involving the appropriate managerial level when necessary.

Comply with Sport & Fitness and Gritncode Experience Procedures.

ADMINISTRATION

Facilitate administrative tasks related to front desk operations, Gritncode tours, signing up new members, and scheduling training sessions.

Evaluate members’ personal goals, skills, and fitness levels to build personalized training packages and programs.

Monitor members’ exercises and progress, enhancing techniques to improve program outcomes.

Develop a robust menu of services with high scientific, artistic, and aesthetic values.

Assist with audits conducted by the Head Coach.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CUSTOMER SERVICE

Maintain high anticipation and professionalism towards internal and external members, monitoring customer satisfaction through surveys and feedback.

Develop and deliver competitive, value-added services and classes.

Clearly describe courses, programs, machines, and facilities to recommend appropriate follow-up plans.

Increase awareness of the Gritncode App, consistently suggesting enrollment to potential new members.

Perform effective programs, classes, and exercises to retain and grow the customer base.

Collaborate on tasks outside the job scope in the spirit of teamwork.

SUSTAINED LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

• Attend regular staff meetings to stay updated on all Gym & Fitness operations aspects.

• Assist in induction and refresher training under the Head Coach’s direction.

• Support new employees during onboarding and execute post-training assessments.

• Participate in Gritncode training sessions and implement ongoing skills training to maintain service standards.

• Recommend and explain offerings to members, maintaining high product, service, and program knowledge.

• Consistently grow sales through training, tools, and monitoring.

• Seek self-development opportunities to upgrade knowledge and skills, actively participating in internal and external initiatives.

• Suggest enhancements to existing Experience Procedures for further growth and efficiency.

SAFETY

Comply with all Health & Safety regulations at all times.

Perform routine checks on cleanliness, hygiene, and operational equipment functionality.

Ensure proper care and professional use of all gym equipment.

Report hazards and take required actions promptly.

Maintain high personal hygiene standards and support the team in complying with Grooming Experience Procedures.

Record and update Engineering and Maintenance issues.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

At least one to three years of experience as a wellness coach, yoga, Pilates, or reformer instructor with demonstrable results and exceptional communication skills.

Required Skills: Group Class Coaching, Personal Training, Outcome-Based Program Design, Team Management, Organizational, Relational & Emotional, and IT skills.

Essential Qualifications: Certified Yoga Instructor, Pilates Certification, Reformer Certification, CPR/First Aid. Additional certifications from reputable institutions are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching and Development:

  • Deliver and plan sessions for Foundation, Development, and Potential Squads, as directed by the Head of Development.
  • Deliver technique-focused, skill-enhancing sessions aligned with the Hamilton Aquatics philosophy.
  • Track swimmer attendance, set individual targets, and ensure training evolves to meet their progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop individualized training programs based on clients' objectives and needs
  • Provide instruction in proper exercise technique and form
  • Monitor client progress and adjust exercises accordingly
  • Demonstrate how to use various pieces of gym equipment safely
  • Educate clients on proper nutrition and lifestyle habits
  • Motivate clients through positive reinforcement
  • Maintain accurate client records including assessments, measurements, program design, training logs, etc.
  • Ensure all gym equipment is used correctly and safely by members/clients

Qualifications:

  • Certified Personal Trainer (or equivalent) from a recognized organization or university
  • At least one year of experience in the personal training field
  • Excellent knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, nutrition principles and exercise programming
  • Ability to identify potential risk factors during exercise sessions
  • Ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds

Job Title: Fitness Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable fitness professional to join our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Designing customized training programs : Develop personalized workout plans tailored to each athlete's specific sport, skill level, and performance goals.
  2. Conducting individualized training sessions : Provide one-on-one coaching and instruction to athletes to improve their strength, speed, agility, endurance, and overall athletic performance.
  3. Analyzing performance and technique : Utilize video analysis and performance metrics to assess athletes' form, technique, and areas for improvement, and provide feedback to enhance their skills.
  4. Incorporating sport-specific drills and exercises : Implement a variety of sports-specific drills, exercises, and conditioning routines to simulate game scenarios and enhance athletes' skills and performance.
  5. Monitoring progress and adjusting training plans : Track athletes' progress, performance metrics, and physical development, and make adjustments to training programs as needed to optimize results.
  6. Providing injury prevention strategies : Educate athletes on proper warm-up techniques, injury prevention strategies, recovery methods, and biomechanics to minimize the risk of injuries and enhance performance longevity.
  7. Collaborating with coaches and medical professionals : Work closely with coaches, sports scientists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to athlete development and performance improvement.
  8. Offering nutritional guidance : Provide athletes with nutritional advice, hydration strategies, and meal planning recommendations to support their training, recovery, and overall well-being.
  9. Maintaining a positive and motivational environment : Create a supportive and encouraging training atmosphere that fosters athletes' confidence, passion for their sport, and dedication to achieving their goals.
  10. Staying current on sports training trends : Stay up-to-date on the latest sports training methods, technologies, research findings, and best practices to continually enhance your coaching effectiveness and deliver cutting-edge training programs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports science, kinesiology, or a related field (preferred)
  • Certified Fitness Professional (CFP) certification from a reputable organization (e.g., NASM, ACE)
  • Specialized certifications in sports performance training (e.g., CSCS, PES) highly desirable
  • Proven experience working as a fitness professional with athletes in various sports disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of sports physiology, biomechanics, and exercise programming
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication abilities, and motivational coaching techniques
Additional Requirements:
  • Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate athletes' training schedules
  • Willingness to travel to training facilities, sports complexes, and competitions as needed
  • Passion for sports, fitness, and helping athletes achieve their full potential
