Structural Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing all structural engineering activities for the transportation project during the pre-construction and construction phases. Experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) and railway projects is required. This role is crucial for ensuring the construction meets all safety, quality, and structural standards are met. The Structural Engineer will work closely with various departments to ensure the successful execution of the project.
Responsibilities
- Validate the structural design provided by the D&B contractor, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Review and assess structural reports, drawings, and specifications submitted by the D&B contractor.
- Review structural analysis and provide recommendations for the design and construction of elevated stations.
- Identify and mitigate structural risks, providing advice on potential opportunities and threats.

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Structural Engineer to design, validate and oversee the implementation of structural solutions for infrastructure and industrial projects. You will ensure designs meet safety, durability and regulatory expectations while coordinating with architects, project teams and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and client requirements.
- Conduct structural analysis and produce technical reports and calculations.
- Participate in design reviews and value engineering workshops.
- Perform site inspections to verify work conforms to design and quality standards.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers and contractors to resolve interface issues.
- Review material submittals and approve structural components.
- Support tender and procurement activities with technical input.
- Assist in assessing and managing structural risks and change requests.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural design and site supervision on medium/large projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar).
- Good understanding of codes (e.g., Eurocodes, ACI, BS) relevant to project geography.
- Excellent analytical, report writing and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Professional registration or chartership is an advantage.

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our expanding team in the Middle East, working on a range of challenging projects, particularly within our growing Ground Engineering team based in Dubai.
The successful candidate will be a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with a proven track record in designing underground/civil engineering structures, including tunnels and shafts. Candidates should be practical and demonstrate strong commercial skills to help develop and expand our ground engineering business in the region.
Requirements- A good academic background with a civil engineering bachelor's or master's degree
- Chartered status in civil or structural engineering
- Experience in designing underground structures, tunnels, or related infrastructure
- Minimum 8 years of experience working on similar projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (clear, concise report writing expected)
- High motivation to succeed and develop their career
- Collaborative team player with a positive personality
- Practical experience in reinforcement design and detailing to British, European codes
- Commercially aware with a flexible attitude towards work and responsibilities
