The Contracts Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all contract-related activities for the rail project during the construction phase. This role involves ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, managing contract negotiations, and providing support during the construction supervision phase. The Contracts Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure the successful execution of the project. Minimum 15-20 years of experience in relevant field.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Oversee the administration of all contracts related to the project, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and corporate protocols.
- Negotiations: Lead negotiations for complex contractual issues, representing the organization in discussions with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate contractual risks, providing advice on potential opportunities and threats.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to the client and internal stakeholders, highlighting any contractual risks and opportunities.
- Claims Management: Liaise with the Claims Manager to ensure a robust response to any claims, in compliance with the contract.
- Technical Data Provision: Ensure the provision of all necessary technical data to the Contract Administration Senior Manager.
- Contractual Presentations: Prepare and deliver contractual presentations as required.
- Liaison with Departments: Work closely with the required departments to ensure compliance with any legal, financial, and corporate protocols.
- Contractual Progress Meetings: Drive progression via contractual progress meetings, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or equivalent are highly desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in contract management, preferably in the construction or infrastructure sector.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, construction contracts, and industry standards. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts is a plus.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple contracts and stakeholders effectively.
- Prior experience working on a rail or transportation project will be a plus.

Your main duties will be to:
- Cross check demarcation and levels of cable routes done by contractors' surveyor and give clearance.
- Assist and guide contractor for coordination with road consultants / contractors for survey information whenever necessary to ensure works carried out are in order.
- Check and confirm correctness of alignment and level of cable laid by contractor with respect to survey information provided by Dubai Municipality / consultant.
- Check and certify (as-built) drawings received from cable laying contractors against the demarcated corridor for posting in GIS.
- Carry out measurement of work done by contractors for installation of cables.
- Demarcate and cross check cable route survey works with the objective to ensure the laid cables are in correct corridor / level within DEWA /RTA / DM requirements.
- Confidentiality: Ensure non-disclosure of confidential information to anyone within or outside the authority, during or after employment in DEWA.
- Safety: follow and adhere to the OH&S Management System manual as per DEWA's safety standers.
