The successful candidate will join our team as an Electrical & Instrumentation Control Systems Engineer, responsible for supervising electrical and instrumentation works for major infrastructure projects. The role requires a strong technical background in electrical systems, instrumentation control, and automation with hands-on experience in PLC and SCADA systems used in water and wastewater facilities.

• Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical works (LV/MV), instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA telemetry systems, and control panels.
• Review and approve contractor submittals, including shop drawings, ITPs, FAT/SAT procedures, SCADA architecture, and communication protocols.
• Provide technical oversight for the integration of PLC and SCADA systems, including programming logic verification and interface testing with field instruments.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance by developing and enforcing inspection and test plans for electrical and instrumentation works.
• Monitor site inspections and evaluate inspector performance to ensure works are executed as per project specifications and standards.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have at least 15 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation supervision, including PLC and SCADA systems, with a focus on STP and infrastructure projects. A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Control Systems Engineering is preferred.

Reporting Line: Director- Control Systems

Exciting opportunity as Engineering Manager- Control Systems for a company specializing in exploration and production, drilling and infrastructure solutions to the global energy industry.

Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following):

1. Lead and direct team of Engineers and designers on Detailed Design and Engineering activities related to Oil & Gas production / Topside control systems.
2. Ensures full understanding and scope of definition against contract / bid information handed over from Applications Engineering team.
3. Works with project planner to generate design and development plan with focus on personnel and all engineering deliverables including final documentation.
4. Scopes and budgets engineering deliverables through engineering resources allocation.
5. Releases Engineering 'sign off' on project design deliverables / documents.
6. Technical approval authority on Engineering Change Requests through ERP.
7. Creates and maintains technical risk register, lessons learned sessions.
8. Problem solving, technical reporting of root cause analysis on project specific issues.
9. Technical interface to customer / vendors on project specific or generic matters.
10. Perform departmental activities in strict adherence to ISO 9001 requirements.
11. Sets goals and objectives for individuals and department with measurable KPIs.
12. Proactively participates in process improvements for seamless interdepartmental communication and integration.
13. Training and development initiatives for existing resource with clear schedules.
14. Track & evaluate engineering man hours monitoring mechanism, subsequent billing, Maintain engineering score cards with reference to live projects.
15. Participates and directs project engineering kick off meetings, engineering progress review meetings.
16. Actively participates in PDM (Product Data Management).

Education:

- Bachelor in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering (Bsc /BE) from reputed University with commanding academic record.

Experience:

- Minimum 8 to 10 Years in Oil & Gas sector dealing with detailed engineering of Instrumentation activities, TBEs, commercial evaluations, project management from small to medium scale projects.

Essential Skills:

1. Topside Oil & Gas experience.
2. People Management skills.
3. Proficiency in preparation / interpretation of P&ID drawings of pneumatic/hydraulic/PLC based/hybrid control systems for topside applications such as wellhead control panels.
4. Proficiency in correct interpretation of client specifications and implementation.
5. Experience in preparation / review of engineering datasheets of instrumentation / Hydraulic / Pneumatic / electrical / PLC components for procurement / approval to client.
6. Sound knowledge of electrical contactor / relay based control circuits preparation and trouble shooting.
7. Knowledge in selection of electrical / electronic instruments / components for hazardous area applications such as Zone 0,1,2.
8. Knowledge in selection of LV drives for hydraulic pumps, motor control centres etc.
9. Aware of international standards such as IEC79, IEC529, ISA S 5.1, Shell DEP.
10. Cable selection CU/XLPE/SWB/PVC and to IEC standards.
11. Basic awareness of fluid Mechanics / Fluid Engineering.
12. Proficiency in AutoCAD software.

Qualifications

This position requires a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.

The site mechanical quality control (QC) inspector plays a pivotal role in ensuring the excellence of mechanical components and systems within the project scope.
