Job Purpose:
Counsel individuals and provide group educational and vocational guidance services.
Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 15 semester hours of instruction in Social Services related instruction, Bachelor's in Psychology preferred.

  • Valid state driver's license.

  • Assist students in course selection, academic program planning, and degree requirements.
  • Address students' concerns, including academic, personal, or social issues, and provide appropriate guidance and support.
  • Promote academic success strategies, study skills, and time management to enhance students' learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation.
  • Participate in academic advising and counseling meetings and workshops.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in academic counseling, student advising, or a similar role.
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy and the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
  • Knowledge of educational programs and degree requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and academic advising software.
  • Familiarity with the education system in Abu Dhabi is a plus.
