A bank in UAE is embarking on a transformative Capital Market Data Platform Program.
We are seeking an experienced Data Steward with deep banking domain knowledge and a strong background in data governance to serve as a key liaison between business units and data management teams. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and quality of data within critical banking domains such as loans, deposits, risk, compliance, finance, or customer information. The ideal candidate will drive data standards, policies, and stewardship practices, while aligning data governance initiatives with business objectives.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate needs to have strong domain business background in addition to being a data domain governance lead.
Act as the subject matter expert for business data within Banking & Capital markets .
Lead data stewardship activities, including metadata management, data quality monitoring, and business glossary maintenance.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, data owners, and IT to ensure data definitions, lineage, and usage are well understood and documented.
Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and data quality rules.
Participate in or lead data domain councils, ensuring business requirements are reflected in enterprise data governance frameworks.
Identify and resolve data quality issues by conducting root cause analysis and partnering with upstream data producers.
Support regulatory compliance initiatives by ensuring data traceability and consistency across systems (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR, Basel III).
Contribute to the development of data governance policies, procedures, and tools that align with enterprise data strategy.
Provide training and guidance to business units on data stewardship best practices.
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, or data management roles in Capital Market and Banking which covers: identification of data domains, data stewards & data owners.
- Governing the approval processes on data changes relevant to the domain.
- Data cataloging
- Being responsible for business glossary stewardship of the domain.
- In-depth knowledge of banking products, operations, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation).
- Experience with data quality tools, data profiling, and metadata management.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Resolve REVO tickets / perform all master data maintenance tasks in SAP within SLA's - Ensure master data processes are executed as per SOPs

Ensure master data is maintained as per Tatmeen Regulations
Monitor accurate data flow and sync between SAP S/4HANA, EWM, ATTP and D365 - Sense check of details provided in Article, Price, Replenishment, Customer and Vendor data update requests.

- Maintain updated REVO Approval matrix as per business requirements.
Continuous communication with the data producers/consumers, if any incorrect / incomplete data is identified

Assist in developing and making improvements in governance processes and procedures
- Define, monitor, and achieve role-specific KPIs in alignment with data governance and business objectives.

The role requires hands-on experience with
SQL
and designing ingestion workflows from external sources into enterprise data platforms. You will also design reconciliation dashboards, validate data flows, and enforce governance standards to ensure trust in data across the organization.
