What You'll Be Doing

1. Collaborating closely with product designers to focus on new feature design and prototyping
2. Assisting in the user experience design process, from wireframes and mockups through implementation and release
3. Working closely with design and business teams to define and implement elegant solutions to interesting problems
4. Helping to define and maintain visual guidelines, ensuring consistency throughout the app
5. Prototyping new user interactions and iterations based on feedback from peers

What You'll Need

1. 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer

Our Technology team isn't here to fix legacy systems – it's here to build world-class financial products from the ground up. Products that will be used by millions of people around the world (18+ million people, not that we're counting).

We're looking for Android Developers interested in every step, stage, and release of a feature. Want to work alone? This isn't for you. We want communicators. One minute you're chatting to your PO, the next a designer, the next a customer (for feature feedback, we don't need you on the phones). Like your projects varied? This is for you. We don't pigeonhole. We want you to spread your wings and stick your beak into as many places as possible. Fancy it? We use: Kotlin, Dagger 2, RxJava 2, Room.

What You'll Be Doing
Collaborating closely with product designers with a focus on new feature design and prototyping.
Be involved in the user experience design process, from wireframes and mockups through implementation and release.
Working closely with designers and business to define and implement elegant solutions to interesting problems.
Helping define and maintain visual guidelines and ensure consistency throughout the app.
Fast prototyping of new user interactions and iteration based on feedback from peers.

What You'll Need
Deep understanding of the Android SDK.
Experience working on apps which support multiple Android devices.
Experience collaborating on software projects with design and backend aspects.
Quick learner with an ambitious and results-driven personality.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Summary

We are looking for incredibly talented Senior Backend Developers to join our development team here at Property Finder. As a company, we are very performance oriented and test the performance of all code and database queries, but we always ensure that this does not affect code quality and legibility. We take the time to refactor and rework code when necessary, but we always have the business goals in mind when doing this.

We expect our developers to be passionate about new technologies and think of creative ways that they could benefit our business. We want our developers to stay current with changes in technologies such as Go, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, and other AWS services like AWS Step Functions to build tailored solutions using cloud native technologies.

We are big proponents of Agile development methods with small cross-functional teams fully empowered to take an idea from inception and to be able to deliver it fully tested into production with minimal outside disruptions. Because of this you will need to be able to work well with others in your team and be able to contribute meaningful ideas on how to best achieve your objectives and key results.

1. In a large tech department, divided in smaller teams, you'll be in charge of developing new features, as well as refactoring existing projects.
