Senior Operations Executive

The Senior Operations Executive will oversee all daily drilling operations ensuring seamless execution of campaigns while embedding world-class standards in safety, asset integrity and digital transformation. This role is mission-critical to sustaining operational excellence and client confidence.

Main Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Direct onshore and offshore drilling operations setting KPIs for performance and safety.
• Maintenance and Upgrade: Oversee maintenance planning to maximize uptime and reliability.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with ADNOC and international HSSE standards.
• Digital Transformation: Drive automation, predictive maintenance and operational digitalization.
• Crisis Management: Lead crisis management and operational risk frameworks.
• Team Development: Mentor staff to build a robust leadership pipeline.
• Client Liaison: Represent the company's operational interests for clients and regulators.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 18 years in drilling operations leadership including both onshore and offshore rigs.
• Strong record of managing large fleets and delivering drilling programs efficiently.
• In-depth technical expertise in rig operations, drilling engineering and maintenance strategies.
• Experience leading operational transformation through digital and safety initiatives.
• degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering; management education an advantage.

The Drilling Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire drilling process, ensuring efficient and safe performance of the drilling rig and crew.

1. Operational Excellence: Oversee daily drilling activities to ensure optimal efficiency and safety standards are met.
2. Rig Operations Management: Manage and coordinate rig operations, including drilling, tripping, and casing.
3. Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies, conduct routine safety drills, and maintain a safe working environment.
4. Maintenance and Inspection: Oversee the maintenance and inspection of rig equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international regulations related to drilling operations.
6. Crisis Management: Respond promptly to operational challenges, minimizing disruption to drilling schedules.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 07 years of drilling experience, with 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid IWCF or IADC Certificate.

• Supervise the activities of the drilling crew at the work location.
• Ensure all operations comply with the company's quality procedures and HSE policies.
• Maintain economic drilling production rates and high sample quality by selecting appropriate tooling and drilling techniques.
• Liaise with site engineering staff to ensure drilling, sampling, and testing activities meet specifications.
• Advise site engineering staff on the limitations of drilling, sampling, and testing equipment to minimize damage and loss.
• Inform site engineering staff of any problematic soil conditions that may require a review of the sampling and testing regime.
• Check that all drilling equipment at the worksite is in good working order and report any faults to the Operations Superintendent promptly.
• Ensure sufficient plant spares are available at the worksite.
• Verify that correctly specified drilling, sampling, and testing tools are available at the worksite.
• Ensure drilling operations consumables are available in sufficient quantities at the worksite.
• Report any deficits in materials to the Operations Superintendent promptly.
  
  

• Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the Company Management System on Quality and HSE-related issues.
• During equipment mobilization and demobilization
• Organize the workforce for effective 24-hour operations.
• Request specialist services, third-party plant hire, and labor from the Operations Coordinator or Plant Manager as appropriate.
• Plan the lifting schedule and ensure all lifting operations are carried out safely and controlled.
• Supervise all cutting and welding activities and ensure correct mitigation measures are in place.
  
• Produce monthly and end-of-project reports on
• Drilling fluid and chemical usage.
• Spares usage.
• Consumables usage.
• Equipment status, maintenance, and fault reporting.
  
• On project completion, produce a debriefing report including
• Brief summary of project performance.
• Lessons learned.
• Individual drill crew evaluations according to IMS form 930.11 Field Staff Appraisal.
• Evaluation of subcontractor/subcontracted Opco technical performance.
  
  
Required Qualifications And Skills
• Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Experience required:

• Ability to calculate figures, amounts, percentages, proportions, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Knowledge of commercial and environmental construction, stormwater construction, and demolition best practices, including sequencing of work.
• Previous experience as a construction foreman or superintendent required.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma, GED, or vocational school, supplemented by college-level or training courses in project management and environmental science or a related field.
