Responsibilities

  • Implement EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) standards in alignment with Siemens and project contract requirements.
  • Develop health and safety plans that ensure compliance with legal, customer, and organizational guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor EHS Management Systems following ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, as well as corporate and customer requirements.
  • Participate in EHS core team meetings to identify workplace hazards and establish control measures, including for electrical installations, testing and commissioning, hot work, height work, civil work, mechanical and manual material handling, confined spaces, and machine safety.
  • Provide guidance and training to site personnel on EHS practices and safety protocols.
  • Oversee the selection, evaluation, and performance management of on-site contractors, including handling penalties and incentives.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate EHS training programs at various levels.
  • Conduct EHS assessments, identify unsafe actions and conditions, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions to the Project Manager and EHS Officers.
  • Ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the availability of safety equipment at project sites.
  • Maintain EHS reporting and coordinate with both internal and external partners on EHS-related matters.
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and ensure compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Collaborate with EU, project management, and site management to develop and implement strategies aimed at improving employee safety and reducing risks.
  • Prepare and update the EHS legal register, staying informed about changes in EHS laws and regulations.
  • Recommend updates to internal standards based on evolving EHS laws and regulations.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
  • 7-10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a preference for candidates who have experience in power plants (e.g., switchyards, switchgears, drives, turbines, transformers, and Electrical Balance of Plant).
  • A full-time Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, along with an M. Tech in Industrial Safety or an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) approved by the state technical board/RLI/CLI.
  • Strong team player and collaborator with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with lean and agile methods, along with validated tools.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate across India based on project requirements.

**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Safety, Health & Environment Specialist II to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
+ Develop and implement comprehensive safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures
+ Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
+ Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and propose preventive measures
+ Design and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels of the organization
+ Monitor and ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, safety regulations, and industry-specific standards
+ Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including reports, permits, and regulatory filings
+ Collaborate with management to integrate safety practices into all aspects of operations
+ Analyze safety data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
+ Coordinate with external agencies and regulatory bodies on safety-related matters
+ Stay updated on emerging safety technologies and best practices in the field
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
+ 3-5 years of experience in safety, health, and environmental management, preferably in industrial or construction settings
+ In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and environmental management systems
+ Proficiency in risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident investigation techniques
+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply safety data to drive improvements
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence others
+ Proficient in MS Office suite and familiar with safety management software
+ Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) preferred
+ Knowledge of UAE labor laws and safety regulations
+ Experience in developing and implementing safety training programs
+ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
+ Willingness to travel to various work sites as needed

+ Previous ADNOC experience is Mandatory.

Job Brief

The incumbent will ensure the safe handling and use of radioactive materials in compliance with regulatory requirements, overseeing the protection of personnel, facilities, and the environment from radiation hazards while securing radioactive sources.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Adhere to all Zahrawi Policies & Procedures as applicable.

Radiation Safety:

  • Understand, share and apply knowledge of shipping regulations for radioactive materials, customs and duties requirements, Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) requirements, and other related concepts to ensure that the work is done efficiently.
  • Develop, implement, and manage radiation safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (for UAE: FANR, MOCCAE – Oman: FEA, MOECA – Qatar: MECC - Bahrain: SCE).
  • Conduct regular radiation surveys, environmental monitoring, and safety audits.
  • Provide training to staff on radiation protection procedures, use of radiation detection equipment, and emergency protocols.
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend radiation protection measures.
  • Investigate and report any radiation safety incidents, accidents, or exposures.

Radiation Security:

  • Manage and enforce security protocols for radioactive materials, ensuring compliance with regulatory security standards.
  • Perform security inspections of areas containing radioactive materials, including storage facilities and transportation routes.
  • Coordinate with security personnel to ensure appropriate access control and monitoring systems are in place for radioactive material storage.
  • Monitor the inventory of radioactive materials and ensure it is accurately tracked.
  • Develop and execute plans for the secure disposal of radioactive waste.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Maintain records of radiation safety inspections, audits, and security measures.
  • Ensure the proper handling, transportation, and disposal of radioactive materials as per regulatory guidelines.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and assist in audits or inspections.

Market Knowledge:

  • Conduct market research to identify new potential customers.
  • Analyze market trends to identify new products in the market and understand their advantages and disadvantages.
  • Plan and assist with new product releases and events.

Business Development:

  • Discuss with end users to update and educate them on the new products and possibilities.
  • Learn about the weaknesses of our competitors and strength of our product and accordingly update our team.
  • Conduct regular visits to all our customers to ensure quality service and inform the team about sales leads.

Application:

  • Conduct training sessions for customers.
  • Assist the customers with the equipment/product that is being used.
  • Run validation tests with the customers to ensure that they fully understand how to use the equipment/product.
  • Solve any issues that they might be facing while using the equipment/product.
  • Provide clinical expertise and application support for targeted radionuclide therapies, including dosimetry, treatment planning, and patient safety.
  • Assist medical professionals in interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic data related to radionuclide therapies.
  • Support the integration of new technologies and therapy protocols into clinical practice.
  • Develop training materials, user manuals, and best practice guides for clinicians.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in radionuclide therapies and ensure clinical teams are educated on the latest developments and techniques.
  • Assist in post-treatment follow-ups to assess treatment efficacy and patient outcomes.
  • Support the sales team for handling projects in terms of specifications and technical comparison discussions with the end users.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to know more about competition and provide argumentation in a scientific way.
  • Assist sales teams during technical discussions.
  • Prepare training certificates for customer training attendees.

Service Team Coordination:

  • Coordinate with service engineers for the installation, PMs, and rectifications and plan trainings accordingly.

Communication with Principal Companies:

  • Communicate with principals on technical information.
  • Communicate with principals on any queries of the customer which cannot be resolved from our end.
  • When new technical information is received from the principal company, transfer this information internally to all concerned persons, especially when there is a new version of software or incompatibility between instruments or any other relevant information.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Additional details: Candidates are preferred to be based in UAE.
  • Experience: 3 - 4 years of experience.
  • Job Specific Skills: Require a good knowledge about radiation safety regulations and standards.
