To ensure a smooth and efficient operations in Zoological - Education department; thus directly impacting guests’ experiences and Theme Park’s operations.

The Education Manager facilitates in providing resources to the Education Department related to the areas of education and conservation, guest tours and programs, interactives and graphics, curriculum development of onsite and outreach programs in order to continue to achieve goals that fulfill the SeaWorld Abu Dhabi mission. Develops a strong environmental message to highlight all of the work being done by the park. Manages labor and expense budgets. Develops a high caliber of motivated ambassadors.

The job scope includes :

  • List the key activities and tasked associated with each Area of Responsibility
  • Accurately, concisely, and completely describe the duties and responsibilities of the job
  • Support / Operations roles (Grades A to C) may only have 1 area of responsibility
  • To assist SWAD leadership team with the oversight and management of daily zoological related revenue programs
  • To assist Education department leadership with budget development and oversight
  • To assist with expenditure and cost oversight within the Education department
  • Plans the schedules and tasks assignments of Education Specialists and Associates; monitors their activities and performance
  • Ensures the completion of required trainings of the team; monitors professional development and competencies
  • Works together with the Education Manager in assigning education programs; includes developing excellent, transformational zoological programming, ensures offerings are relevant and compelling to today’s audiences in content and delivery
  • Collaborates with Sales, Marketing and other sections of Zoological department to promote and sell Education and Zoological programs
  • Facilitates on the interpretation of animals to guests in park, includes development of messaging, presentations, interpretative graphics and other methods to increase guest awareness and interest in animals
  • Facilitates in park revenue experiences, includes streamlining operations, providing incredible guest service and innovating new experiences based on customer demand
  • Establishes and implements development / motivational plans of the team to improve their capabilities and expertise
  • Responsible for high-volume guest interaction, including resolution of issues that may arise
  • Fosters a culture of human and animal safety; ensures compliance with existing safety policies while encouraging the review and renewal, or provision of new policies and practices so that colleagues work in a safe manner with the appropriate protective equipment
  • Contributes to formulating and administering policies as needed
  • Facilitates in delivering high-quality guest experience programs
  • Works in varying shifts / hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; weekends, and holidays
  • Performs other duties as assigned

To be considered for the role, you will need to have :

  • Bachelor’s degree in animal sciences, education, other natural sciences or related discipline
  • 5 years of experience in leadership of people / teams, budget management, and customer service
  • 3 years of proven experience in the developing and implementing an interpretive content strategy
  • 3 years of proven experience in marketing, sales, and promotion of products and programs
  • Excellent skills in customer / guest interaction, including resolution of problems
  • Demonstrated applied knowledge of educational principles and instructional design models
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong public speaker, with the ability to readily adjust to audience
  • Proficient in current computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • 5 years of experience as an Education supervisor preferred
  • 4 years of experience in zoological setting, with basic understanding of zoological operations preferred
  • Fluency in Arabic and other languages is a plus

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Executive Director for the Center for Executive Education is a key senior management position that is mission-critical for the university. It is pivotal for its pursuit of strong ties with the executive community, and leadership in meeting strategic learning needs of this community. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in recommending to the Chancellor the strategy of the Center including programs to be offered, fees to be charged, networks to be built, promotional strategies to be followed, quality control measures to be adopted, and plans to be formulated and implemented;
  • Supervise and assume responsibility for every aspect of the center’s operations in terms of program mix, facilitators, content, delivery methods, overall performance and assessment;
  • Suggest and defend the annual budget for the center and carry it through all the way to adoption within established channels;
  • Closely coordinate with other relevant units of the university to ensure their cooperation for the smooth functioning of the center. Such units include colleges, Office of Finance, Office of HR, office of the VCFAA, Office of Strategic Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment, as well as working closely with Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships. The Executive Director is expected to recommend coordination channels and mechanisms.
  • Maintain a high profile for the center in the UAE executive community in terms of visitations, bridge-building activities, communication channels and all other reasonable means. The goal is effective networking, advocacy, promotion, stimulating enrollment, and creating strategic partnerships.
  • Organize promotional and high-end professional activities at the center. This covers speaker series, symposia, seminars and other related activities. The purpose should be creating awareness, expanding knowledge, highlighting challenges, and bolstering concerted professional effort towards creating shared platforms leading to greater connectivity.
  • Regularly update center’s programs to keep them at the cutting edge in terms of both currency and relevance.
  • Show equal interest in ability for launching and managing open enrollment, sector-specific programs. This should include designing, marketing, running, and assessing the impact of all three program categories.
  • Demonstrate advanced ability for strategic as well as operational planning in close alignment to the strategic plan and major goals of the university.
  • Play a role in the selection of instructors and facilitators for the various programs and modules offered.
  • Produce quarterly reports and an annual report at the end of the academic year.
  • Other related duties as mandated by the Chancellor.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Master's degree (preferably MBA or equivalent) in Business, Education, or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in executive education or corporate training.
  • Advanced bi-lingual communication skills; both verbally and in writing.
  • Sound working knowledge of different information technology applications.

  • Ability to work effectively with academic and corporate stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Initiate and execute marketing strategies to promote cultural programs and events at AFEF and its schools.

  • Support the Social Media Manager by ensuring all platforms are regularly updated with appropriate content and aligned with the AFEF/Schools brand.

This posting is being used to fill Clinical Psychologist VI positions that provide services to students at various schools within the Central District as needed and assigned by the Central District Administration Office.

Salary Range: All new external applicants will be placed on the initial step of the salary range. However, placement above the initial step of the salary range will be based on special characteristics and critical needs of the position, an applicant’s exceptional qualifications, the availability of funds, and other relevant factors. Such appointments require prior approval. Hawaii State Department of Education employees will be placed on the salary range in accordance with Department regulations.

Clinical Psychologist VI, SR-26: $6,399.00 – $7,787.00 per month

Examples of Duties

  • Perform professional work concerned with the development and application of theories, principles, methods and techniques relating to the development, behavior, capacities, traits, interests and activities of individuals in order to measure, predict, prevent, modify or induce behavior, especially as these activities relate to individuals and/or groups with serious problems of personality, social and emotional adjustment or mental retardation.
  • Performs professional work in clinical psychology at a level of professional maturity.
  • Provides psycho diagnostic, psychotherapeutic, consultative services.
  • Performs work in prevention, training and/or research.
  • Some positions may include supervision over other multidisciplinary professional staff which perform program services in their respective areas of competence.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

General Requirements: Applicants must possess the requirements specified in A, B, C, D or E below:

  • Successful completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree from an accredited college in clinical psychology which included an internship in clinical psychology. In lieu of the internship requirement, applicants may substitute one year of professional work experience in the field of clinical psychology.
  • Successful completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree from an accredited college in a specialty related to clinical psychology. The doctoral program must have included an internship in clinical psychology or must have been supplemented by a post-doctoral clinical internship. In lieu of the clinical internship requirement, applicants may substitute one year of post-doctoral clinical psychology experience under competent profession supervision.
  • Holds a doctoral degree from a training program approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) or holds a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and also meets the experiential requirements for inclusion in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, as described in Chapter 465, HRS.
  • Holds a diplomate certificate in good standing granted by the American Board of Examiners in Professional Psychology, as described in Chapter 465, HRS.
  • A valid license to practice psychology in the State of Hawaii, as described in Chapter 465, HRS.

For the Level VI, applicants must also possess a minimum of one additional year of professional clinical psychology experience which involved psycho diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services to individuals with severe problems of personality, social, emotional adjustment or mental retardation. The year of the additional experience requirement must have been comparable to Level V in the State service.

Quality of Experience: Possession of the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for a position. The applicant’s overall experience must have been of such scope and level of responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that the applicant has the ability to perform the duties of the position for which the applicant is being considered.

Licensed Required: Within two years from the date of appointment as a Clinical Psychologist V or higher, applicant(s) hired must meet the requirements for licensing and obtain a license issued by the Hawaii State Board of Psychology, as required by Chapter 465, HRS.

Driver’s License Requirement: Some positions require applicants to possess a current, valid Driver’s License.

Supplemental Information: The advertised salary is based on full-time employment and includes shortage and school year differentials, if applicable.

Requirements: Applicants must meet all the requirements for the position they are seeking as of the date of the application, unless otherwise specified.
