About The Role
Teaching Assistants play an important role in creating a positive learning environment for our students.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
A minimum of a high school diploma level education

Job Purpose:
Assist teachers in their work as directed. Teaching assistants will be asked to assist with a range of tasks on a regular basis.
Job Scope:
Have the authority to supervise small groups of children or whole classes of children in an emergency situation, or when specifically requested to do so by the Principal or Senior Management Team. Teaching assistants are fully insured to supervise groups of children inside and outside the classrooms.

Assist the teacher with reading related activities.

Experience:
Previous experience as a teaching assistant or working with children preferred.

Bus Supervisor (When applicable)
Transport children to school by picking-up children at assigned stops; instructing children when it
is safe to board the vehicle; established loading and unloading procedures,
Maintains safe conditions while traveling by enforcing safety and discipline rules and following all
vehicle and driving laws as outlined by the School & DoT
Complete daily all pre-and post-trip inspections for safety and security by inspecting and
documenting the vehicle logs prior to completing daily shift.
Implement emergency plan in the event of an accident; appropriately administer to the needs of the
members on-board, administer first-aid, and complete accident report and documentation for all
accidents or incidents that occur in the bus.
Take daily attendance of students
Physically check the bus after every trip to be sure that no child is left behind
Provide assistance to students in fastening their seatbelts and ensure that they are properly strapped
in throughout the journey. Insures all students are seated at all times on the bus
Oversee student behavior within the bus and intervene during untoward incidents such as bullying
Reports any delays in pickup/drop off to parents
Prepare reports such as attendance, schedules and student

Emphasizes the importance of safety in all areas of the curriculum, communicating to the pupils the

- Deliver and assist academic staff with the delivery of learning sessions, especially seminars and workshops, including (but not limited to) updating, revising and developing additional learning material to be used in both face-to-face and virtual learning environments.
- Undertake marking responsibilities under the supervision of Module Leader(s).
- Develop and deliver tutorial learning sessions for small groups of students requiring specific support and guidance.
- Identify and refer weak students to the Campus Programme Coordinator in order to be directed to the appropriate channels of learning, academic and wellbeing support.
- Participate in, promote and assist departmental co-curricular, career-related and extracurricular initiatives, including the mentoring scheme, the personal tutoring project, the law firm project, the mooting society, and the future lawyers network.
Support administrative processes within the department/service. This may include:
- Assist with related administration tasks such as the marking grids, e-portfolios, and module handbooks.
- Assist in monitoring student attendance.
- Assist with field trips, invigilation, and open days as required.
Undertake other activities as required and commensurate to the grade. Appropriate training will be provided to support the role and offer career development.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Appropriate academic qualifications in law at postgraduate level.
- Entry-level experience in preparing, delivering, or assisting in teaching and learning sessions in one or more of the following areas:
- English Legal System
- Legal Skills
- Introduction to Law
- Public Law
- Contract Law
- Tort Law
- Criminal Law
Additional Skills
- Evidence of ability to provide individual and/or group tutorial sessions.
- Ability to work well in teams and under the supervision of senior academics.

The Specialist Teaching Assistant – Languages (German) plays a crucial role in supporting language instruction and creating an engaging and effective learning environment for students.
Their contributions help enhance students' language skills and promote cultural awareness, facilitating their overall language learning journey.
Support in providing outstanding learning experiences for students by
Assisting in lesson planning: Collaborating with the teacher to plan and prepare lessons, including selecting appropriate teaching materials, resources, and activities for language instruction.
Supporting classroom activities: Assisting the teacher during language lessons by facilitating group or pair work, monitoring student progress, and providing individual support to students who require extra assistance.
Conducting language practice sessions: Organizing and conducting language practice sessions, such as pronunciation drills, vocabulary exercises, or conversational activities, to reinforce students' language skills.
Working with small groups: Delivering language lessons to small groups of students as directed by the class teacher / Head of Department.
Providing one-on-one support: Working individually with students who need extra help in specific language areas, providing additional explanations, practice exercises, or remedial support.
Assisting with assessments: Supporting the teacher in assessing students' language proficiency through activities like administering tests, grading assignments, and providing feedback on student performance.
Managing classroom resources: Ensuring that teaching materials, equipment, and resources are properly organized and accessible for language learning activities.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications / Training
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject – specifically language
Ideally will have received instruction / training in best teaching practice.
Fluent in German
Fluency in Spanish is advantageous
Experience / Knowledge
Minimum of two years' experience in a school setting.
Ideally will have knowledge of the British Curriculum
