About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to contribute to our team's success. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for various tasks including startups, emergency repairs, modifications, testing, retrofits, modernizations, upgrades and warranty on electrical power distribution, control and switchgear.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, test, and repair control systems and switchboards.
- Startups, commissioning, engineering, and troubleshooting on switchgear.
- Troubleshoot ATSs, switchgear, PLCs, protective relays, circuit breakers, isochronous governing systems, and generator control systems.
- Understand MOPs, SOPs, SOOs, and electrical drawings.
- Integrate BMS & SCADA systems using standard protocols like BACnet, Modbus, and others.
- Travel for training and/or assisting at other locations.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Electrical Power Systems Engineering.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (BS or AS preferred) or military service performing similar duties.
- Diesel and/or gas power generation related controls experience.
- Programming PLCs, HMIs, and data collection devices (SCADA/BMS systems).
- Strong background in electrical power systems, including switchgear and controls.
- AC/DC voltage troubleshooting for power generation (generators, switchgear, and ATSs).
- Reading schematics, prints, and control automation drawings.
- Diagnostic software experience.
- NFPA, OSHA, ANSI/NETA, and UL standards knowledge.
