Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer (Fresher) to join our Engineering team. This position is part of our UAE National Development Program (Emiratization Initiative) and offers recent graduates an excellent opportunity to begin a career in the Oil & Gas Engineering Consultancy field. The successful candidate will assist senior engineers in developing electrical design deliverables for various onshore and offshore projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of electrical design drawings , layouts, single line diagrams (SLDs), and cable schedules under supervision.
- Support in performing power system studies , lighting and earthing design, and equipment selection in accordance with project requirements.
- Prepare and update technical documents including equipment datasheets, material take-offs (MTOs), and design reports.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil, Process) to ensure integrated and optimized design solutions.
- Participate in design review meetings , HAZOP sessions, and internal quality checks.
- Review vendor drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company and client specifications.
- Learn and apply international standards and codes (IEC, IEEE, NEC, ADNOC, DEWA, etc.) in all design activities.
- Support site engineers during construction, inspection, or commissioning phases when required.
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures in all design and site-related activities.
- Participate in training, mentoring, and development programs designed to enhance professional and technical capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 0-1 year of experience (fresh graduates encouraged to apply).
- Basic understanding of electrical design principles and power systems.
- Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux, and MS Office .
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent teamwork and willingness to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- UAE National (mandatory as per Emiratization framework).

Your mission
As Assistant Resident Engineer - Electrical (Substation) in our Transmission & Distribution department, you will support the Resident Engineer in supervising the execution of substation electrical works. You will ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with contract documents, drawings, method statements, and safety requirements. Your role will include site inspections, contractor coordination, and support during testing, certification, and project handover.
Your key responsibilities
- Assist the Resident Engineer in day-to-day supervision of electrical works for substations.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor the contractor's work progress.
- Liaise with all technical disciplines and attend Site Technical Coordination Meetings.
- Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and construction-related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with approved method statements, layouts, and drawings.
- Witness site activities, inspections, and testing as per project requirements.
- Support the Resident Engineer during final inspections, completion certification, and handover of works.

Job Purpose
The Program Delivery Assistant Engineers (Electrical) will report to the Project Delivery Managers and oversee the execution and delivery of the Project, focusing on the construction, commissioning and handover of Substations, gid-stations, STATCOM and OHL. Qualifications:
- You are highly skilled in electrical packages/systems and the Oil & Gas and Power & Water sectors market
- You have at least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, including hands-on experience with substation layout, single line diagrams, and electrical package installations
- You are proficient in ABB and/or other electrical control systems, including MV and LV switchgears, transformers, UPS, DBs, VSDs, and relays
- You are innovative around customer interpersonal skills, communication, and problem-solving
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- You are at ease communicating in English and are comfortable with contract negotiations and presenting to customers and suppliers
- You are highly adept in preparing project schedules, resource plans, and progress reports for electrical package projects
- Familiar with ADNOC/GCC specifications and international standards
- You possess hands-on experience with pre-fabricated substation engineering (E-House/Skid) and can manage site activities independently (E-House Engineer)
- You have experience in ABB and/or other relays and proficient in IED engineering tools, like ABB PCM600 with ABB Relion Series Relays or other tools (Relay Engineer)

Key Objectives
- The candidate will assume sole responsibility for the management of the electrical engineering and design teams on the contract
- To ensure all team members are competency assessed and maintain the competency of the team in line with company requirements
- To have single-point responsibility for all electrical engineering deliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client's policies and procedures
- Manage and report progress of all Electrical engineering and design budgets in line with contract requirements
- Manage engineering and design resource requirements in line with contract requirements
- Ensure compliance with management of change processes both technical and financial.
- To provide direction and guidance on technical queries relating to electrical engineering and raise appropriate EQ's/deviations
- To participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary
- To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule
- To promote safe behaviour at all times
- To provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline

Expected:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems for landscape projects, including lighting, irrigation automation systems, and other electrical infrastructure within public parks. This role ensures that all electrical systems comply with design specifications, quality standards, and local safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of landscape electrical systems, including park lighting, power distribution, and automation systems for irrigation or other utilities.
- Review and approval of Shop drawings, Material submittals, Material deliveries and installations, As Builts, Closeout requirements etc.
- Inspect the installation of electrical systems in parks, ensuring that all wiring, conduits, lighting fixtures, and control systems are installed according to design specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with landscape architects, project engineers, and contractors to integrate electrical systems within the park’s design, ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
- Ensure proper installation and commissioning of lighting systems, including both decorative and functional lighting, to enhance the safety, aesthetic appeal, and energy efficiency.
- Review and ensure the integration of automated systems for irrigation and other park utilities, ensuring proper electrical connections and functionality of controllers, sensors, and actuators.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical systems, identifying any issues or malfunctions and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure all electrical components meet local safety standards, including proper grounding, fault protection, and compliance with UAE codes and regulations.
- Provide guidance on energy-efficient electrical solutions, including the use of solar power or other renewable energy sources where appropriate for sustainable park operation.
- Prepare and deliver detailed reports on the progress of electrical works, highlighting any issues, risks, or corrective actions, and ensuring timely completion of all electrical systems.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for the procurement and installation of electrical components, ensuring quality, compliance, and adherence to project timelines.
- Ensure that all electrical work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations, minimizing risks to workers and the public.
- Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of park electrical systems post-installation, ensuring ongoing performance and addressing any operational issues promptly.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
