The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems for landscape projects, including lighting, irrigation automation systems, and other electrical infrastructure within public parks. This role ensures that all electrical systems comply with design specifications, quality standards, and local safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of landscape electrical systems, including park lighting, power distribution, and automation systems for irrigation or other utilities.
  • Review and approval of Shop drawings, Material submittals, Material deliveries and installations, As Builts, Closeout requirements etc.
  • Inspect the installation of electrical systems in parks, ensuring that all wiring, conduits, lighting fixtures, and control systems are installed according to design specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with landscape architects, project engineers, and contractors to integrate electrical systems within the park’s design, ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
  • Ensure proper installation and commissioning of lighting systems, including both decorative and functional lighting, to enhance the safety, aesthetic appeal, and energy efficiency.
  • Review and ensure the integration of automated systems for irrigation and other park utilities, ensuring proper electrical connections and functionality of controllers, sensors, and actuators.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical systems, identifying any issues or malfunctions and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure all electrical components meet local safety standards, including proper grounding, fault protection, and compliance with UAE codes and regulations.
  • Provide guidance on energy-efficient electrical solutions, including the use of solar power or other renewable energy sources where appropriate for sustainable park operation.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports on the progress of electrical works, highlighting any issues, risks, or corrective actions, and ensuring timely completion of all electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for the procurement and installation of electrical components, ensuring quality, compliance, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Ensure that all electrical work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations, minimizing risks to workers and the public.
  • Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of park electrical systems post-installation, ensuring ongoing performance and addressing any operational issues promptly.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in landscape electrical engineering, specifically focused on public space renovations such as parks.

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer (Electrical) to join our team. In this role you will assist the Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project with respect to utilities works. Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of Electrical infrastructure works and associated items.
  • Act in place of the Resident Engineer when on leave or absent.
  • Coordinate direct activities with other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the utility section and prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.
  • Coordinate with Parsons' design engineers for resolution of related issues.
  • Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors.

  • Participate in health and safety issues at site as required by the Resident Engineer and project safety representatives.
  • Provide on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer to issue site instructions with respect to utilities works and related items.
  • Check and measure the performed work in the line of work, record and assist in displaying progress vs. programmed work.
  • Ensure correctness and completeness of as-built drawings within the line of work.
Qualifications

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 10 years of experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of (Electrical) infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges.
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience managing supervision activities on large-scale infrastructure projects within Abu Dhabi is mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years postgraduate experience in design, site supervision and construction management of (Electrical) projects.
  • Ability to review and justify material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Sound knowledge of contractual relationships.
  • Fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and use project-specific engineering and construction software.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) with strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Keep necessary records and as-built records; hand over utility works to respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain final clearance.

Mission

The Senior Maintenance Engineer leads and oversees various aspects of asset maintenance within engineering consulting projects. Responsibilities

  • Acts as the client’s representative in design meetings with consultants and contractors and suggests solutions and recommendations in evolving a standard design philosophy. Coordinates with consultants in preparation of method statements related to I&C and Electrical systems.
  • Develops, establishes and upgrades design and implementation standards, with periodic reviews to ensure the client remains current with evolving design methods.
  • Reviews I&C and Electrical design, material submittals & design drawings for the entire system including site locations and the central control room.
Qualifications
  • 4 year engineering degree (Electrical, Electronic or similar) or equivalent. Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
  • 10+ years experience in designing, implementing and/or managing Electrical systems and components in the 24x7 continuous process drainage, sewer or water utility industry.
  • Hands-on experience in the design of I&C and systems and demonstrable work experience on at least 4 major projects and demonstrable work experience on at least 3 major projects
  • Developed interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to interact effectively with multicultural teams.
  • Ability to work effectively and diligently as an individual and team member to resolve complex faults on critical equipment.
  • Ability to prepare and present technical and non-technical documentation.
  • Proven ability to perform in a key technical leadership role, good written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. Working as part of a team in the energy consulting business line, typical projects include mainly Energy Performance Improvement Studies but also participate in project focusing on Profit Improvement Programs, Strategic Analysis, Operational Excellence, Process trouble shooting and plant optimization.

The postholder will be responsible for:

  • Lead data collection and analysis – for example take client operational data and reconcile.

  • Modeling and evaluation of utility systems (steam, fuel, and power).

  • Conduct pinch analysis to identify heat integration gaps and improvement opportunities.

  • Identify operating cost and capital cost reduction opportunities as part of energy consulting engagements.

  • Technical and economic analysis of energy improvement opportunities.

  • Supervision of team for limited sized projects or work streams.

  • Assistance in technical proposal preparation and Client sales visits.

The incumbent will have a willingness to travel as and when required on a domestic and international basis, approximately 20%-40% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Key Account Management: Manage and develop important customer relationships with guidance from senior colleagues, and/or manage an account team delivering day-to-day support. Customers are likely to include mid-tier companies, multinational corporations.
  • Customer Relationship Management / Account Management: Develop and implement relationship management plans for complex existing customer accounts to identify and build relationships with relevant decision- makers and influencers within the customer organization and to enable effective two-way flow of information and resolution of issues. Manage ongoing relationships with identified customer segments to ensure their needs are met, providing themes, summary analyses, and recommendations for changes based on customer input.
  • Customer Needs Clarification: Set clear objectives for each sales call or meeting; tailor standard materials to make presentations to decision-makers and influencers within the customer organization; and ask relevant questions to gather information, to evaluate the customer's level of interest, and to identify and respond to areas requiring further information or explanation.
  • Sell Customer Propositions: Use personal expertise to identify the complex standard products and/or services offered by the Company that meet the customer's needs, together with quantities and product configurations. Present these to the customer with a clear rationale and at standard commercial terms, referring to senior colleagues where necessary to ask for concessions (e.g., price reduction) that gain the customer's agreement.
  • Promoting Customer Focus: Collaborate internally and work as the customer champion in cross-functional teams to build strong external customer relationships.

Position Requirements Education
  • BEng/ MEng in Chemical Engineering or related STEM degree

General Experience
  • Previous experience and competent in the use of simulation models and energy tools is required.
  • Skills in conducting pinch analysis is essential.
  • Experience in utility system operation and optimization is advantageous.
  • Proven ability in managing a team with strong evidence of leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Achieved Chartered Engineer status is preferable
  • Arabic language is a plus.

The job holder is responsible, within the GMP team and under the Early Work Package Leader and report to Construction Manager during the Early Works execution phase, for coordination, validation of resources, monitoring, supervising the overall construction activities within assigned area as carried out by the EPC Contractor (and Subcontractors) at the GPP worksite. The job holder ensures that all HSSE, Quality and Technical contractual requirements are duly applied by EPC Contractor and all Subcontractors on the construction site. The job holder will be required to:

  1. Be fully conversant with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards applicable to the Project.
  2. Review design/construction documents at site and be fully familiar with all scope of work related to his/her discipline.
  3. Responsible to make site decisions where required to enable the project to move forward.
  4. Responsible to keep good communication with discipline Electrical engineer.
  5. Attend regular site query engineering meetings.
  6. Inspect construction sites frequently and ensuring that there are no outstanding site issues that have not been raised related to his/her discipline.
  7. Provide technical assistance during construction to resolve any technical issues arising related to Electrical installations.
  8. Responsible to ensure the EPC contractor implements the Electrical scope as per project requirements.
  9. Provide expertise to site team to avoid/resolve site engineering problems.
  10. Ensure the Electrical scope of work and technical drawings is being implemented and that all work is in conformity to standards and specifications.
  11. Prepare and provide daily field engineering updates to management team.
  12. Will not hesitate to issue ‘STOP WORK’ when witness potential hazard or risk that could cause harm to themselves, their co-workers, the environment, or the equipment.
  13. As and when requested/required, conduct regular inspections checks to ensure electrical installations meet the required standards.
  14. Participate and witness performance tests on powerlines, cables, etc., as well as other equipment used for the transmission of electrical power.
  15. When requested, review and endorse red line mark-up drawings. The job holder is also accountable for demonstrating, individually, an exemplary behaviour with regards to HSE, ethics and “code of conduct”.
  16. Participate to KOM with Contractor/Subcontractor(s) with respect to Discipline matters.
  17. Attend daily site briefing (TBT).
  18. Maintain good relationships with EPC Contractor field discipline engineering team but being strict to achieve the project objectives.
  19. Participate to all required Construction/Site meetings with EPC Contractor/Subcontractors.
  20. Stop the work when necessary & report immediately to Contractor any anomaly, violation & unsafe practice.
Requirements

The job holder must have:

  1. 10+ years’ experience in the Oil and Gas industry in an appropriate discipline.
  2. Experience in multi-Construction projects in several different countries of E&I oil and gas project Installations.
  3. Mandatory experience in a similar position: 10+ Years.
  4. Experience in understanding project engineering drawings.
  5. Experience in project specifications.
  6. Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  7. Experienced in HSE overall project requirements.
  8. Language: English as mother tongue or Fluent in English (speaking and writing), French and/or Arabic language is a plus.
