Job Summary.
Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer is accountable for producing and maintaining related deliverables (including, but not limited to Calculations, Datasheets, Technical specifications, Material Requisitions, Technical bid evaluations, Schedules, MTO's, Review GAD's, detail drawings, Work volumes) in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications within the schedule and budget as set-out by the Lead Engineer. It is important to have significant experience working on Onshore/Offshore oil and gas projects and work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, coordinate, mentor and manage discipline teams on projects when needed.
- Ensure safe, effective and successful implementation of Electrical and Instrumentation engineering activities within budget and schedule requirements.
- Participate in engineering assignments such as assisting with the development of specifications, datasheets, calculations, drawings, material take-offs
- Prepare Material requisition, technical bid evaluations and review vendor drawings
- Getting the required inputs from respective disciplines for designing the structures and managing the weight control during various stages of project.
- Giving the inputs to designers for them to prepare the drawing. To lead the designer team and taking ownership of the job given.
- Preparing a design that is most suitable for the intended purpose and that suits to the functional requirement of other disciplines and meet customer needs.
- Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data from other parties/execution offices.
- Take part in 3D Model reviews, Construction reviews, Design reviews
- Review materials take-offs and bill of materials. Ensure that the quantities are within budget and any changes are documented with approval from Lead Engineer/ Engineering Manager/Project manager.
- Bring to the attention of the necessary parties, any problems, assistance or matters that may affect quality, deadlines or costs.
- Establish good working relationships and communication with all Leads, Managers and clients.
- Interface with Subcontractors, Suppliers and Vendors for completion of engineering activities
- Assist in the Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering activities on projects, tenders under the direction of Lead Engineer
- Adhere to the HSE requirements stipulated by Company/Clients
- Ready to attend the sub-vendor FAT and visit yard during construction and understand improvements needed in design
- Maintain Quality documentation and report any non-compliances for process improvement.
- Undertake any other general duties that may be requested. The list of duties is not exhaustive in any way and may change at any time.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of work experience in the Oil & Gas industry with at least 10 years in similar position i.e. working for EPC Projects in Oil & Gas sector in analysis, design and detailing.
- Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Automation or Electronics Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent.
- Ability to demonstrate previous experience in the use of software like AUTOCAD and Navisworks
- Must have good working knowledge of codes and standards (ISA, IEC, BS, ASME, API, ISO, etc.)
- A basic understanding of constructability, operability and maintainability requirements.
- Verbal and written communication using English is compulsory.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team environment.
- Should be able to work on fast-track projects and deliver as per project schedule.
- Strong work ethic and proactive drive to deliver projects within schedule.
- Ensure deliverables meet strict quality standards.

Job Purpose:
This position is a unique opportunity to work with DEWA and be involved in the Installation & commissioning of 132/11 kV transmission substations, and 11kV Distribution substation equipment by organizing commissioning and installation activities in coordination with DEWA sections, departments, contractors/ consultants with an objective of achieving commissioning targets.
Your main duties will be to:-
- 132/11kv substations site visits before commencing distribution equipment such as 11kV Switchgear, capacitor bank, and cables for new projects.
- Assist in verification of drawing submittals related to 11kv substation equipment. Assist in reviewing of 11kV equipment design and giving comments for processing the dispatch

- Assist in preparing unit-level budget and ensure optimum utilization of the same.

You’ll qualify opportunities, interpret SLDs and specifications, design offers for control panels (DOL/Star‑Delta/ VFD /PLC), power distribution to AHU/FAHU/VRF/pumps/fans , and Intelli‑Hood DCKV integrations, then present and negotiate win‑win proposals. You’ll coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and projects to ensure compliant submittals and on‑time delivery—building lasting relationships with consultants, contractors, and end users.

What You’ll Own (Responsibilities)Map stakeholders (consultants, contractors, facility teams); qualify opportunities and gather site data.
Conduct surveys; review SLDs , load schedules, method statements; identify interlocks (FA, BMS, gas valves, DCKV ).
Build BOQs , scope notes, and compliance statements; perform take‑offs from drawings; request quotes from suppliers.
Engineer solutions for control panels (DOL/Star‑Delta/ VFD /PLC), power to HVAC equipment, and kitchen ventilation integrations.
Value‑engineer alternatives while meeting authority standards ( DEWA/ADDC ) and project specs.
Present technical/commercial proposals; handle clarifications and design reviews.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery with customers and suppliers while protecting margin.
Maintain forecast accuracy and pipeline hygiene in CRM .
Create SO/PO packs with approved drawings/SLDs and scope; hand over to projects & procurement.
Support submittals, FAT/SAT, as‑builts, and client training; pursue upsell/cross‑sell opportunities.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare tender documents, prequalification files, and authority submissions; ensure HSE considerations during surveys.
Reporting
Weekly pipeline reviews, activity cadence (meetings/calls/emails), and monthly order booking vs target.
Must‑Have QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience: 3–5 years in electrical/HVAC sales or application engineering .
Strong knowledge of LV systems, control panels , VFDs , PLC I/O , and BMS basics (BACnet/Modbus).
Ability to read and explain SLDs , wiring diagrams, and specs; solid proposal/BOQ skills.
Persuasive presentations, structured negotiation, and clear written documentation.
Proficiency in MS Office; AutoCAD fundamentals; CRM usage.
UAE driving license is required.
Knowledge on ESCO model business proposition will be an added advantage.
Preferred (Nice to Have)Exposure to AHU/FAHU , VRF/DX , Kitchen hoods, DCKV , Air Curtains , and Wet Scrubber .
Awareness of LEED/Estidama and local authority compliance.
Contacts in hospitality industry will be a strong plus.
Capable of presenting company at exhibitions, client presentations, and industry events.
