Our client, a prominent organization in the aviation and airport infrastructure industry, is seeking a highly skilled Airport Engineering Consultant to join their team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, designing, and overseeing airport development projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and contributing to the growth of world-class aviation facilities. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with strong expertise in airport engineering and project management who are eager to work on large-scale, impactful projects within the UAE and internationally. Other responsibilities include but not limited to: - Prepare sketches and drawings of airport facilities such as runways and terminals, based on provided blueprints. - Conduct environmental impact studies and assessments for proposed construction projects. - Meet with airlines and stakeholders to address issues affecting airport operations. - Plan, design, and oversee airport construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety, efficiency, and environmental standards. - Coordinate with construction crews to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. - Maintain records of project costs, equipment purchases, and financial data. - Conduct site surveys and design layouts for new projects. - Administer procurement, logistics, and workforce allocation. - Develop networks with contractors, engineering firms, and consultants. - Collect and compile departmental reports for higher management. - Enforce deadlines, set budgets, and apply safety standards across all project phases. - Monitor quality of raw materials and conduct post-completion safety checks. - Prepare and present final project reports to management. - Develop and administer the Airport Master Plan, including capacity enhancement programs. - Analyze regulatory, social, and political constraints in airport development. - Conduct airside planning studies (e.g., gate layout, hold room analysis). - Lead, train, and mentor professional and technical staff. - Evaluate and improve departmental planning procedures and performance.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria: - Strong knowledge of airport planning principles. - Familiarity with federal and state regulations governing airport planning and development. - Strong oral and written communication skills (English and French). - Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure. - Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and organizational skills. - Proficient in using computers and related software. - Capable of preparing and delivering formal presentations. - Strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain professional relationships. - Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to shifting priorities. - Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing long-range plans.
