For the Generation International department, the Global Business Unit Renewable and Flex is looking for an head of chemical chemical process engineer Objective & responsibilities - Provide expert technical support in a broad domain of chemical processes to the operating assets and the center of excellence for water desalination and water steam cycles with the objective to: - Develop O&M corporate & local governance procedures for new and existing projects. - Raise the operational performance of the assets. - Develop action plans to preserve asset integrity and maintain life span of equipment. - Improve chemical process safety through Risk identification and mitigation. - Lead analyses programs required to identify critical operational performance and process safety. - Reduce operating costs involving chemical processes and optimize investments. - Improve the assets availability, reliability and efficiency involving chemical processes. - Support investigations and Root Cause Analysis of chemical process failures. - Conduct Peer reviews under ENGIE Operational Excellence Framework. - Provide support on specific asset or project based assignments on request. - Expertise is extended to new technologies incorporating NH3, and H2. - Identify and assess new chemical suppliers - Evaluate the readiness of operation and maintenance organizations in terms of chemistry - Provide expert technical and engineering support to the Project Development Team and ETSG team to: - Support & review operational & technical requirements to optimize efficiency for new projects. - Support in optimizing consumption of chemical consumables and budgetary estimates. - Investigate on alternative to the actual and commonly used chemicals in the Power and Water plants. - Review and approve final dosing rates during development phase of the project. - Contribute as needed to HAZID, HAZOP and other technical assignments related to project development and Chemical process Safety. - Act as critical reviewer of the overall water steam quality of a system, before entering in operation - Support review and development of new technologies involving Chemical process engineering. - Expertise is extended to new technologies incorporating NH3, and H2. - Bring expertise and contribute to transversal initiatives launched within the BU on chemistry related projects and actions, more particularly by : - Support procurement team in fleet level optimization of chemicals contributing to efficient commercial bids. - Support identification and evaluation of new suppliers & products. - Support sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives. - Provide training and pursue professional development, including research, review and validation of latest technological advances in the field of chemistry processes and asset integrity. - Liaise with Engie Group competence centers and expertise to ensure experience sharing and best practice for the BU activities. - Lead the Chemistry Networking Group to develop community, cross functional knowledge and group targeted initiatives. - Lead initiatives and projects including but not limited to corrosion management of installations. - Support programs around digitalization of data management and KPI’s. - Expertise is extended to new technologies incorporating NH3, and H2. Reporting Line The Head of chemical process Engineering will report to the Head of Operational Excellence & Process Safety within the TOS (Technical & Operational Support) team. Degree / Experience Master of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Process Engineering. Minimum 10 years technical & management expertise within a management position in the field of industrial chemical process engineering. Fundamental knowledge of new technologies including, but not limited to ammonia and hydrogen production processes.

Requirements
Specific Knowledge / Skills - Expertise in process and chemical treatment in Power Plants. - Expertise in Process and chemical treatment of Desalination Plants (MED,MSF and RO). - Knowledge of International and local Standards and policies that govern the Chemical treatment of Power and Desalination Plants. - Treatment and monitoring of water steam cycles in thermal power plants - Expertise in plant condition and inspection protocols. - COSHH, MSDS and laboratory safety protocols. - Plant preservation protocols & chemical cleaning processes. - Process failure investigation and remediation related to chemical processes. - Laboratory processes for sampling, calibration, monitoring and analysis. - Emergency actions to be taken in the event of plant contamination or prevention of environmental breaches. - Plant materials and selection, protective coatings, cladding and linings. - Cathodic protection & corrosion drivers, prevention and remediation. - Process and potable water production methods. - Knowledge of waste water treatment systems. - Environmental compliance requirements and emergency protocols. - Ammonia and hydrogen production on industrial scale. - Strong abilities to utilize Microsoft Office tools and administrative reporting. - Proficient in using / introducing digital tools and packages to facilitate operational activities. - Curiosity required to stay up to date in technical fields of interest. - Ability to translate quantitative analysis, field experience & best industry practices. - Ability to understand the nature of a technical issue quickly and effectively, and to define a few potential alternative solutions. - Good knowledge of diverse sources of in-depth technical expertise both internally (within O&M companies, at ENGIE AMEA, at ENGIE Group) and externally (vendors, engineering companies, ) - Ability to mobilize technical experts and bringing them together for the solution of an issue. - Champion the use of various knowledge management and sharing practices and tools, including email, teams, share-point, conference calls and face-to-face meetings - Sound analytical skills required to identify individual and common commercial opportunities across the fleet. - The ability to translate a complex technical issue in clear management language. - Solid understanding of the economic aspects of technical solutions (e.g. for new project development, maintenance optimization, asset lifetime management, vendor negotiations, ) - Ability to play an important role in inter-departmental projects, both as a leader & team member. - Strong interpersonal and network management skills. Job Overview

This job function is to be assigned in projects, taking the role of Lead HVAC Engineer. The main duties and responsibilities of the Lead HVAC Engineer are but not limited to the following:

  • To assist engineers / Design manager / Discipline Manager for the engineering design of the project.

  • Complete responsibility for HVAC engineering, design and deliverables on projects at all stages of the design process.   • Provide specialist engineering support to global projects in a major engineering contractor organization.
  • Project technical support – familiarity with risk assessments, design reviews, constructability, HAZOP, etc.
  • Technical supervision of supplier design and control of supplier interface, review of Vendor documents plus the co-ordination of interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
  • Verify that all designs are to required standards & quality and that the objectives of the project are met.
Qualifications
  • Engineering Graduate (BEng, BSc. or MSc.) in Mechanical or Technical related degree.
  • Over 15+ years of experience and in the specific discipline or in HVAC engineering and design in oil & gas / industrial sector/ EPC projects.Minimum 8 years in a Senior Role.
  • Must have worked in FEED and EPC projects and delivered to ADNOC Group of Companies.
  • Extensive design experience, primarily in a contracting environment, working with HVAC equipment.
  • Technical knowledge in Industrial Ventilation criteria, systems and calculations, and ability to apply these to various application and processes.
  • Experience of HVAC calculation software program (Carrier HAP, ELITE, etc.).
  • Experience of HVAC design software program (AutoCAD etc.)
  • Knowledge in HVAC equipment and item selection as part of the HVAC design practice.
  • Knowledge of International Codes applicable to HVAC design (ASHRAE, AMCA and Industry standards) as well general codes and standards used in UAE (AGES etc.).
  • Experienced in all stages of project delivery (Studies, FEED and Detail Engineering, Commissioning)
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
  • Attention to details and ability of critical thinking.
  • Excellent people management skills with solid understanding of customer interface.
  • Team player, hardworking, problem solver, self-driven with can-do attitude. Ready to join in short notice is added value.
  • Meets with UAE visa requirements.

Major Duties &Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of the product pipeline with current and future customers, understanding their needs and challenges creating solutions that drive mutual value.

  • Build a fully engaged local R&D team with standalone, fit for Purpose Food science and R&D capabilities incl but not exclusive to raw materials, culinary center and pilot scale assets.
  • Unlock value through our existing regional and global portfolio of products (lifting and launching.)
  • Support the end to end creation of value streams in the key markets
  • Build and leverage a strong network of partners across the specified region and globe, utilizing Griffith Foods internal networks, existing external partners and creating new ones in an ecosystem approach.
  • Understand the regulatory constraints and engage with internal and external partners to manage compliance.
  • Support the set-up of manufacturing and co-manufacturing in the selected countries

Knowledge and Experience:

**The Position:**
Provide advanced professional input to Product Development, Client Solutions and Proposition assignments/projects to ensure our organisation becomes an undisputed partner of choice to the people we serve, and maximize our growth strategy for Cigna Middle East and Africa Responsible for refreshing existing core products and propositions that will help drive incremental growth, as well as introduce new products and enhancements to propositions that are compliant and competitive within target market(s) and segments. Responsible for the growth and development of other team members
**Main Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Key contributor and advisor to the Head of Product & Solution Strategy and Vendor Management with the development of regionally appropriate, compliant and competitive products and propositions for all of Cigna MEA (Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Lebanon, Africa) and segments (Top-Tier, Mid-Tier, 'local/domestic') for both Group and Individual, in line with our Simple, Affordable and Predictable strategy and executing our business strategic priorities.
+ Lead Local Product forum with internal stakeholders, creating governance, gathering feedback to inform team priorities and planning and to communicate team strategies and updates
+ Lead strategic business priorities to execute on business goals and objectives
+ Influence and lead on departmental priorities to ensure their execution to further enable our growth and earnings targets
+ Be agile on ad-hoc business priorities eg New product or operating model requirements for a strategic new business client
+ Reacting to any regulatory market change, displaying agility and adaptability, whilst continuing to execute on the business strategic priorities.
+ Representing the Product & Solution Strategy Team in Steer Co meetings, clearly articulating the progress and mapping out recommendations with a well thought out analytical approach while being open and candid on any risks.
+ Lead Global (Cignalinks) projects, being the conduit between the local and global teams, sharing the required local regulatory requirements globally and being instrumental in determining the appropriate operating models based on both global and local capabilities and requirements
+ Training, developing and leading other members of the Product & solution Strategy team
+ Partner with internal teams (Sales, Client Management, Underwriting, Actuary, IT and Operations) impacted in the product development process to collectively design, develop and launch new product initiatives.
+ Support the product roadmap priorities and ensure continued alignment to achieving our growth strategy
+ Project management responsibility for new product development initiatives, when a project manager is not allocated, working in an Agile environment
+ Communicate and work with peers in the product team to knowledge share
+ Understand and leverage partnership strengths and capabilities to support growth within the markets
+ Evaluate product portfolio status on an annual basis
+ Provide updates to the Head of Product for reporting to senior management
+ Report project status, resource utilization and ability to recommend changes to improve the team's overall effectiveness

**Qualifications/Experience Required:**
+ Bachelors Degree preferred; MBA or Masters Degree or equivalent experience
