We are currently seeking a Resident Engineer (Villas) to join our Supervision team on Ramhan Island, Abu Dhabi.

• Administering contracts, monitoring, and controlling all engineering, procurement, construction and delivery activities associated with the project
• Representing the company in all Client meetings
• Proposing, mentoring, managing, and appraising staff members within the project team and organising their responsibilities
• Monitoring performance and taking necessary measures to ensure effective contribution towards the project’s objectives
• Addressing and replying to project letters and correspondences
• Establishing internal weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action plans
• Scheduling and organising suitable meeting strategies, ensuring key topics such as kick-off meetings, progress meetings, submittals, quality, safety, and coordination meetings are addressed
• Arbitrating disputes between the general contractor, subcontractors, design consultants, and team members, escalating if issues cannot be resolved
• Reviewing and approving the Project Quality Plan (PQP) submitted by the contractor
• Visiting manufacturers and suppliers’ workshops/plants for approval and periodically inspecting them to verify adherence to quality requirements
• Reviewing contractor resources and methodology and assigning project engineers and inspectors as required
• Providing regular monitoring of the project schedule and tracking logs as construction progresses
• Assisting the project controls department in assessing the impact of changes during construction
• Identifying potential variances impacting milestone dates and initiating remedial measures
• Monitoring overall project productivity, alerting on delays, predicting potential obstacles meeting milestones, and proactively coordinating with the Client representative to resolve them
• Participating in the preparation of monthly reports and internal tracker sheets
• Initiating the process and overseeing procedures for obtaining permits, NOCs, and completion certificates from authorities
• Conducting site walks with the Client, contractor, and QS team
• Managing and controlling site safety measures in coordination with safety professionals
• Validating claims for processing and replying
• Conducting weekly specific meetings with contractors’ section managers
• Conducting technical workshops

Westlakes MENA are currently recruiting for a Design & Systems Engineers at Senior level with a background in Nuclear and other highly regulated sectors to be engaged on a permanent basis in the UAE.

The function of the engineer is to act as a technical expert in the area of design engineering and systems engineering to perform subject matter expert duties including :

• Detailed technical review / comment of project vendor output / deliverables and work with engineering lead to satisfactorily resolve any issues from the reviews.
• Perform technical reviews of design basis changes, calculation verification and margin analysis for NSSS systems and impacted auxliliary systems
• Perform technical reviews of safety case updates and changes to the analysis of record.
• Technical review of markups of procedures, technical specifications and FSAR changes for verification of accuracy.
• Provide technical support for the license change request (LCR) submittal.
• Support response to technical queries from the regulator.
• Support development of the implementation plan and actions for change management once preparation of the the LCR is completed.
• Compilation of plant operating data in a format required by the engineering lead and project manager for transmittal to the vendor(s).
• Ensuring all required documentation and design outputs are provided in the approved client procedures and processes and submittal for document retention.

Requirements

• BS / BSc in Engineering prefer I&C, Mechanical or Nuclear
• Previous experience in performing or reviewing updated safety cases, design reviews / updates including calculation updates and margin analysis, technical specification and FSAR revisions and updates.
• Experience with I&C engineering and instrument drift analysis and design reviews, design basis reviews / updates including calculation updates and margin analysis.
• Previous Experience with 18 to 24 Month Fuel Cycle projects preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise manage and coordinate Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works at the project site.
• Review and interpret MEP drawings technical specifications and installation details.
• Ensure MEP works are carried out in accordance with project requirements approved drawings and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with subcontractors consultants and other site engineers for smooth execution of works.

Archirodon has been awarded a major Oil & Gas EPC project in UAE, and is currently building a team of experienced Lead Engineers, who will be based in our UAE office and lead the multidiscipline Engineering of the project.

Project includes the detailed engineering and design, quality assurance and control, procurement/supply, interface management, construction/installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning/start-up of Hydrocarbon & non-Hydrocarbon systems and management including all works required for the job completion. The main objective of this brownfield project is to increase the production handling capacity by adding a new Production Train and associated facilities at an existing Central Degassing Station and a new gas lift compressor train at another existing Central Degassing Station.

Role Summary:

Lead the design, development, and integration of electrical systems for oil & gas projects, focusing on rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines).

Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE, API) for electrical systems design.

Develop and review electrical design deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), cable sizing, grounding systems, and protection schemes.

Oversee the preparation and review of technical specifications, datasheets, and equipment selection.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, instrumentation, process) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and ensuring quality standards are met.

Conduct detailed technical evaluations of vendor documents, equipment bids, and submittals.

Manage the electrical system design process to ensure the completion of projects within the required budget and timeline.

Review and approve electrical drawings and design documents, ensuring alignment with client requirements.

Participate in risk analysis, HAZOP studies, and other safety and design reviews.
