The Candidate

  • 10-15 years experience in the Pharma sector in external affairs area with proven ability, and unmistakable evidence of success in these roles. Supporting academic standing with a degree / masters in a related subject would be desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in and a passion for Sustainability and pharma transformation, and the stakeholders involved in this landscape.
  • Ability to partner with an influence stakeholders across the Gulf landscape.

The Candidate

  • 10-15 years of experience in pharma external affairs, with proven success. A related degree or master's is desirable.
  • Passion for sustainability, pharma transformation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence stakeholders across the Gulf.
  • Strong external network, including policymakers and government agencies, with experience in delivering results.
  • Experience managing public policy issues, navigating government structures, and advocating effectively.
  • Experience working in a decentralized structure with diverse teams.
  • Track record of developing advocacy and stakeholder engagement plans, building teams, and aligning advocacy efforts.
  • Ability to translate business needs into policy positions and negotiate internally.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze policies across authorities and sectors.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is essential.

Job Description

Regional Director of Government Relations

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Director to lead our government relations efforts in the MENA region.

  • Represent Boeing's interests on telecommunications policy and licensing issues before government agencies, international and intergovernmental organizations, trade and industry associations within the assigned geographic area.

  • Support Boeing's advocacy efforts before the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) and the Arab Spectrum Management Group (ASMG), as well as in regional satellite and aviation-related telecommunications and radio frequency spectrum groups.

  • Obtain telecommunications licenses and authorizations in support of Boeing programs, products, and services, as needed.

  • Establish and maintain close contact with internal engineering and business leaders to understand their regulatory and policy requirements, particularly Boeing leadership in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

  • Write concise internal memos, external regulatory filings, and presentations to internal and external executive-level audiences, explaining complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.

  • Work with all groups within the organization, being responsive to requests for support in a timely manner.

  • Work on multiple parallel issues, demonstrated English language and writing skills, and the ability to work closely with a small remote team are critical to success in this position.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of government relations experience with telecommunications or radio frequency spectrum regulatory and policy issues.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in government affairs, preferably on telecommunications, radio frequency spectrum, aviation, satellite, or defense issues.

  • English language proficiency (both written and spoken) is required.

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
