This role involves planning and delivering internal and external examinations, including iGCSEs, GCSEs, and AS/A2 levels, ensuring compliance with policies, managing timetables, secure storage, data entry, and communication with students and families. Strong administrative and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, are essential.
In relation to students:
- Manage all external examinations (GCSE and GCE) for winter and summer sessions
- Assist SLT in issuing examination results
- Process students for estimated and full entries, liaising with SLT and HoYs
- Support students with examination inquiries
In relation to teachers:
- Distribute examination materials and updates to SLT and HoDs
- Coordinate publication purchases and payments
- Liaise with the Director of ACE for special requirements and inform exam boards of accommodations
- Oversee external moderation arrangements
- Inform HOYs about examination issues
In relation to examination boards:

This pivotal role is responsible for the efficient planning and delivery of all internal and external examinations, including iGCSEs, GCSEs and AS/A2 levels, as well as national agenda assessments. Working closely with the leadership team, staff, and examination boards, the Examinations Officer ensures full compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and timescales. The successful candidate will manage exam timetabling, secure storage and handling of papers, access arrangements, data entry, and communication with students and families. Strong administrative and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to remain calm under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
In Relation To Students
- All external examinations including GCSE and GCE for the Winter and Summer seasons of each academic years
- To assist the SLT to issue GCSE and GCE examination results on Summer Results Days
- To process all students in all subjects for Estimated Entry for each exam session, liaising with appropriate SLT and HoYs

- To distribute all examination material, including curriculum updates, subject specific information sheets, mark schemes and examiner's reports, coursework record sheets and actual examination papers, to SLT and HoDs

- To liaise with Director of Ace in applying for special requirements or consideration and informing exam boards of centre-based extra time allowances

- To package and process coursework by the required exam board deadline date
- To co-ordinate with the Accounts Department and examination boards the payment of all external examination related fees

- To package and process exam scripts after each examination
- To package and process coursework by the required exam board deadline date
- To co-ordinate with the Accounts Department and examination boards the payment of all external examination related fees
- To keep a central record in the examinations office of all correspondence between the school and the external examination boards
- To prepare timetables for external invigilators as and when appropriate
